OT: SD assistant Cam Cameron accepts Dolphins offer to become HC

Cam Cameron is a wonderful offensive coordinator.

But he'll be a terrible head coach. His college experience was embarrassingly bad, and he had some talent to work with. Cameron was fired with 4 years left on his original contract. He was a miserable failure as a head coach.

He's not a leader.

He a great Lieutenant, but not a good General.

Re: OT: Dolphins offer HC job to SD assistant Cam Cameron

Oh give me a brake, the Pats had no place winning a game where the ball bounced their way at least five times.
lol

Dip****, have you come back whenever something good happens to your pathetic football team? You just want to come over here and claim the Fins are the next big thing with this dude as their coach.

FINZ WILL WIN AFCEAST IN 200711!!!11!!!1!!!!

feelthepain,

Huizenga misses again, for your team.

Cam is probably not a bad coach. But WH put the horse before the cart. The Miami Dolphins have a dearth of young talent and an aging roster of old stars. Products of the bad Wannstadt years of attempted patches that failed.

What was needed was a competent talent acquiring GM. And the authority to tear down the roster for what he can get, and start reducing the talent gap, by drafting some good talent.

That's why the Nicktator left. He came in hoping to avoiid the major surgery; when he saw he couldn't he quit. Cam will probably try ot do the same, and not face the issue.

A total rebuild is needed, and get about it and mimimize the agony to a year or two, instead of denial and a decade of losing and mediocrity.

AJ Smith, Scott Pioli are the kind of guy that MIAMI NEEDS. But they aren't available; there is one guy in that class that is available. Floyd Reese has just spent a couple of yearas of Herculean effort stripping a roster and rebuilding it. They turned the corner this past season. The Titans were still in the playoff hunt the last game of the year.

Watching the live press conference on miamidolphins.com right now and Cam Cameron has already referred to himself in the third person. This guy is boring.

Why is it Pats fans think they are allowed to be the most arrogant people on the planet? I'm thrilled for you your team is winning, but how much of that success is because of the fans? None! Cam ran the number one O in the league this year and has had one of the best O's the last 4 years. He is a responsible for the development of the QB's in San Diego as anyone. Sure LT is the best back in the league, but is that Cams fault? Could be. Cam also rejoins Oline coach Hudson Houck. We also have Dom Capers who ran the 5th best D in the league last year.

Daunte will have been out of football for almost two years and his knee should be much better when the 2007 season starts. If Cam can develop Brees and Rivers you don't think he's able to work with a guy like Daunte? We also have Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown in the backfield not exactly a shabby duo. No one in Miami is spewing SB we just know we had a lot of key injuries last year, but we were still able to play great D. If Sean Peyton and Eric Mangini can get their teams turned around in one season why can't Cam the Dolphins? It's not like turn arounds are rare.

Didnt he play DJ on "Full House"?

What are We worried about? Remember this guy is so bright He only gave the ball to LT nine times in the second half last week.He also failed miserably at Indiana as a Head Coach. This is good news for The Patriots.

Why is it that Miami trolls think we give a sh#t? :rocker:

Re: OT: Dolphins offer HC job to SD assistant Cam Cameron

I would LOVE for Miami to get this guy - break up the Chargers a bit while the phins O comes to prominence (without a QB), their D continues to get OLD.

Bingo! This has to hurt SD a little bit. Dolphins aren't close enough right now for any coach to make too much difference.

Good hire,I'm just happy as **** you didn't hire Norm Chow cuz then I'd be dissapointed that you may of gotten the best candidate possible.

best play on words in the thread

offensive coordinator

ps--dear miami, you suck.

Well, someday, Miami will rise again. As for NE fans arrogance, he has a point in that a lot of us will say a move is stupid unless it involves stealing one of our Belichick disciples. And, I wouldn't hold a record at Indiana (basketball) U against anybody. Even the college football analyst pervert Lee Corso was something like 48 - 63 there, and I think he was a decent coach. Have to say that Huizenga did sound kind of desperate to get a new coach though after Saban left.

PFT has pointed out that Dom Capers, the defensive coordinator, was re-signed before Cameron was hired. Not only that, but on a yearly basis Capers is making more than Cameron! (Cameron has an extra year but is making 2.5M a year vs 2.7M for Capers).

Apparently the Fins decided they couldn't get what the really wanted and hired the best available warm body for a bargain price. If a better guy is available after a couple of years they don't lose much by canning Cameron, espcially if you look at how much they are saving compared to what they had originally planned to pay Saban.

If I were a Fins fan I wouldn't be wildly optimistic. On the other hand, the fact this is the guy's first HC job doesn't mean he might not do a great job. But it's certainly not a lock.

Nothing is a lock, the point is Cam has a great Offensive mind. Miami needs offense, we have a great D, if we can score, we can compete. It's that simple. As for Cam not having HC experience, Dom Capers does, it's not like we have no experience on the staff.

Wrong, every team is potenially a season away from being in the SB, look at the Saints. We had the 5th best D in the league this year, get us a better OC and a QB and we could be in the same position nexy year as the Saints are this year. We already have Cam Cameron a guy who's system is one of the best in the NFL, he also develops QB's, you think Philip Rivers ability to play so well is all talent? He's been Tutored under Cam since he was drafted, he knew what he was doing when he took the field. All we need is Daunte to get healthy, is he? Will he be? Thats what we will find out.
