I keep hearing/reading supposed sportswriters and TV analysts talking about how neither Tom Brady nor Peyton Manning has played particularly well in the playoffs.

It's getting on my nerves, because it's just not true.

Yes, Brady wasn't good for most of last Sunday's game vs. the Chargers, but he was his usual efficient, multiple-receiver-hitting, 3rd-down-converting self vs. the Jets in the wild card game and the Pats scored 30 points on offense.

It's what have you done for me lately with these guys. The other thing is that they all think the Colts defense is fine now based on two little games. Where's the switch that got flipped? Why wouldn't their D revert back to, like the Jax game? Same group of guys, isn't it?

Plus, Brady has 4 TD passes and 3 INT. That isn't that bad, it is above average. Manning has 1 TD and 5 INT. Now that is bad!

It's kind of a moot point. Brady has sort of proved himself in big playoff games before . . . unlike some other QB I can think of.

Hmmm... I bet it was these same guys who had decided that Mike Vick had finally turned the corner as a passer after two good games...

He did turn the corner....

He just turned right back around when he realized that he couldn't take his weed with him.

Michael Vick doesn't smoke weed.

He prefers "dark particulate."

Thanks for making this post. Those comments have been gnawing at me all week. It's like no one watches the games anymore.

John Clayton kept talking about how the Patriots come from behind and steal games at the end, or on the last play. He then mentioned how this happened when McGinest stoned the Colts back in 2003 at the Dome.

Obviously Clayton didn't watch that game because the Patriots jumped out to a 21 point lead and then almost gave the game away.

Come on. Brady had 2 TDs, no INTs, and completed 64.7% of his passes against the Jets. We punted a whopping two times in the entire game. Miserable game in my book. I don't know how anyone could spin that as a good game for Brady. (Note the biting sarcasm)

Here's a nice problem to have: your QB plays the worst game of his postseason career, but its a winning, come-from-behind effort against the #1 team in the league in which he leads the team to the two winning scores with less than five minutes to play.

Now I know why other fans hate us.

I used to think Clayton did decent research and intelligent pro football analysis. Then, the other day, I heard him say something completely stupid. Wish I'd noted it, too many ANALysts barking all the time whenever I turn on the TV or radio and it all tends to flow together. Today, Jim Rome was gushing about how great Sean Payton has done, that he really turned around New England. I said to myself, OK, mental to speech temporary disconnect. Then, he said the same thing: Sean Payton has really turned NE around. Meh...

I can honestly say that I have never heard or read a single thing from Clayton that was intelligent or well thought out. Every single time it is always either trite or uninformed.

Seriously. I am not exaggerating for effect.
