Jones says Cowboys seek return to "glory hole" days

"“I’ve been here 23 years. I’ve been here when it was glory hole days and I’ve been here when it wasn’t. And, so, having said that, I want me some glory hole. So I have that perspective.”

Dear Lord.

I really think it could be done. Maybe the Vikings could lend them a boat to help out...

Glory hole? Never heard it referred to that way. Sounds more like pig trough in the middle of Dodge.

C'mon, doesn't he just mean that he thinks they're gonna suck?. Who doesn't?

"Jerry Does Dallas!" :eek::eek::eek:

At least the media in the room seemed to understand the term - they are laughing their heads off:

I guess someone had to assume the Al Davis Senile Owner role this year.

My guess is that he is using "glory hole" in the gold-miner's sense of the word (and it is a very old expression). A glory hole where gold-mining is concerned, refers to a depression at the bottom of an ancient waterfall where large deposits of gold are usually found. When you think about his background in gas/oil/mining industry, this is probably where he is coming from.

That's probably the most interesting thing I've ever heard...but when I thought about it, that's not really what I was thinking about:D

The reaction of the media in that clip makes the quote 10X much funnier than in it's written form. There isn't a  big enough.

Oh, no doubt. Jones probably has no idea how most people are going to interpret that term, which only shows how much he is out of touch with how things have evolved, including the NFL.

My mother, who was an immigrant, used to tell a story on herself of the time she went on at length about how much she enjoyed playing with her cat, and the people in the room surprisingly doubled up in laughter.

Of course, she didn't exactly use the word "cat" ...

I remember getting some glory hole, back in my glory days.
Glory holes, they'll pass you by...in the wink...

That's interesting. I suppose after the first Cowboy victory he'll proclaim the whole team is gay. (happy)

Welll.... I guess this takes the pressure off of Bob Kraft for "Most embarrassing owner moment in the off/preseason."

Rex probably thinks a glory hole is a donut with his wife's toes sticking through it. He's a lot closer to the truth than Jerry is on that one.

The Brokeback Mountain boys were cowboys, after all.

.....so I've heard from a friend of a friend's mother-in-law's sister. I didn't actually watch the movie. Really, I didn't. Seriously.

I mean it.

Is Jerry the giver or the receiver?
