Rex Ryan setting the bar lower on his promises

Because the best way to have chemistry and camaraderie in the locker room is to tell your players to have it.

Doesn't seem like Ryan can control Holmes enough to not mock the Jets' two QB strategy during the offseason. What makes him think he will be able to control Holmes if and when the Jets go on a three game losing streak and he is catching 4 balls a game?

Ryan guarantees the Jets will try their best, or at least very hard. And he also guarantees that the Jets will attempt to win the division from the Patriots, although it will be a tough task. Finally, he boldly proclaims that when the Jets play the Patriots, the Patriots will not score in the first three minutes of the game, hopefully.

Why would his catches increase?:D

After last season, it might be easier for him if he guarantees a Superbowl win.

Putting the lockers closer together probably won't help much on the football field

much more togetherness in jet land

Well we know that it is NOT going to happen because he has yet to keep a promise

Rex Ryans words mean absolutely nothing. He garauntees and promises so much, and he's failed to deliver on EVERYTHING he's said.

He should just stop talking.

He's just trying to get the bar lower to our female fans feet.

He also said that he delegated too much last year, and will do less of it this year. That's a fairly basic coaching lesson, how much to delegate. Really, the world's greatest defensive coach is still figuring out how much to delegate? And his response to seeing other coaches do things poorly is to take responsibility away from them, rather than teach them how to do it better?

By next year, he'll be relegated to be guaranteeing that he'll have regular bowel movements in the morning.

Sometimes coaches will relieve their assistant coaches from their tasks. For example, BB took the playcalling duties away from Mangini in 05. Parcells took the playcalling duties away from Weis in 99 with the Jets. It happens.

Clearly Rex isn't even in their class of leader but depending on the circumstances, NFL HCs do it.
