For me, its:

1. Nate Ebner, hopefully he's healthy by then. I have to see this rugby animal in some game action on defense.

2. Hoyer vs. Mallett. Hoyer has the clear edge, but it'll be interesting to watch.

3. Brandon Bolden. Lot of positive reports on him from camp. Let's see if he can earn a roster spot or even more.

For me it's Jones and Hightower. I know we won't see anything too exotic in the preseason, but I just want to get a look at what kind of players they appear to be. You can't go by the results in exhibition games, but you can sometimes get an idea based on the eye test.

Solder - has he gotten his strength up enough
Gallery - does he have anything left in the tank
Koppen - is he still better than Connolly
Brady - how will living in the shadow of Sanchez' unlimited ceiling affect him
Vereen - is he any good
Stallworth/Branch - what do they have left

Bequette... is he better than where he is drafted.
Wilson.. what is the real story, away from the speculation, conjecture and hyperbole
Scott... can he be rejuvinated here.
Carpenter.. same as Scott

Who is the RB that will step up as the #1 and will Bolden help us forget about Addai

Can Lloyd be one of the best WRs in the league at his age?

Stallworth vs Branch for the #4 WR spot

Will Gallery do anything in his career?

How does Cannon look after missing so much time last year?

Is Chandler Jones a beast or will be be the solid and consistent player I predict him to be.

How will BB utilize Hightower?

Is Tavon Wilson playing up to his 2nd round billing?

the tremendous increase in ability/production of the WR wearing #85

Definitely what Fanene, Bequette, Deaderick and Jones bring up front. If the Pats can get an outside pass rush to complement the push by the big guys in the interior, the defense will be vastly better from week one.

I'm very excited about Hightower and the potential he brings. Was very surprised to see him wear the green dot.

1. Defense
2. Offense
3. Special Teams

Or as Bill would say, "All three phases".

Defense, Defense, Defense, I wanna see if any of these guys brought in, Draft Choices and FA's, can make an impact on our defense, as well as the injured guys from last year. I have no concerns about the offense, the best offense in football just got better with LLoyd, Gaffney and Stallworth. Interested in seeing the young RB's and FB's.

Wow, I hadn't heard that yet. That is impressive. I wonder if that means he'll be sharing that role with Mayo or if the plan would be to eventually remove those duties from Mayo in an effort to allow his playmaking abilities to blossom.

Although the two first round rookies are and will be very important to the success of the team now and in the future...I find offense more interesting and fun to pay attention to I want to see if and how much Lloyd helps the offense

The defensive front seven with all the new additions, but especially Jones, Hightower, and Burquette

Hightower. Almost flipped gronk over backwards? Green dot? I know it's just tc, but god damn that gets me excited. The roles he played at Bama and the size, decision making, and leadership have me incredibly excited. If he can perform at the level many feel he is capable, this will probably become one of, if not the best, lb cores in the league.

With the addition of all the younger, lighter de/olb types, this defense will certainly have a very different feel from the Bru/Willie/Sey/Harrison/Jr years, and even from last year.

It seems Fanene/deadrick will be the big paired with Vince for the two in the 245 many of us feel we will be effectively transitioning to.

For the first time in years I feel that the defense has a legit chance if challenging the offense for most dominating unit on the team (offensive line worries me).

Pre season games show squat ... but I will watch anyways and expect nothing as usual.

No doubt will be paying attention to the rooks and additions like Fanene. But the secondary is what concerns me at this point. So paying attention to that.

As always I'll fall in love with some UDFA and get crushed as he's cut.

+ Will Bolden run like BJGE Release 2.0?
+ Will Gallery or someone step in at LG?
+ Can my man Wilson bring it? I need him to succeed so I can buy a jersey.
+ Can Ras IR Dowling stay on the field?
+ What will be the all-stud DL lineup?
+ Who are the big 3 rotation OLBs?

How much strength/effectiveness will Wilfork lose, if any, as a result of losing that weight?
