SBB's early camp trend: the return of the screen pass

I don't see it, and I think that Faulk would be on the roster by now if it were likely.
Abso-effing-lootly, if Kevin was going to get a call it would have been the moment Addai walked out the door.

I hope I'm wrong, but I'm hardly ever wrong. It's a character flaw of mine I guess.

Good news about Bolden. He fits so well with the other personnel IMO. He's got some power and nastiness.

I hate that move...that's a sprained ankle(at best) waiting to happen.

You'll learn to f'n love it if it's into the end zone to take the lead with 12 seconds left on the clock in New Orleans this February.

Excited to see Bolden today. His talent level is unusually high for a UDFA. (5'11 220 lbs, pass catching ability, quick, and had a hell of a junior year in the SEC with a 6.0 ypc on a horrible Ole Miss team) He has all the things to be an all around back, something BJGE lacked in speed and pass catching.

I'm thinking the current stable of RBs who are all equally adept in the running and passing games is no coincidence, eh?

Except, of course, that said stable was acquired before McDaniels returned, but point taken. ;)

Which, of course, begs the question of how the **** he went undrafted, especially after BJGE's relative success with the Patriots. [Not saying he should have been a second-rounder or anything, but why not a sixth- or seventh-rounder?]

Injuries+a team suspension is not a recipe to be drafted, though he should of been a late round flier for someone.

If he came out his junior year he may of been drafted before Ridley.

I will be at camp today. It will be interesting to see this Bolden kid and what he can do.

Ah, but the decision to tell BJGE "thanks and bye-bye," and to make Addai the only FA RB signing came in the Josh2 era! :p

Meanwhile, all of the early reports on Bolden threaten to play havoc with my longtime prediction of 3 RBs and 1 FB....

From NE Patriots' Draft today:

Brandon Bolden looked good once again on Saturday. He has gotten a lot of reps and seems to be making the most of his opportunities. Bolden has good hands and ripped off a run today that would have been a touchdown in a game situation. He outran multiple defensive backs on the play showing off his speed as well. It will be tough for the Patriots to keep four running backs and a fullback on the roster, but Bolden may force their hand.

That's the kind of problem that would be nice to have. I could live with having Bolden force the team to keep him along with Vereen, Ridley and Woodhead and then having to decide whether to keep a FB over someone at another position.

If push comes to shove the Pats can use one of the 17 Tight Ends we'll have on the roster as a FB. The news of Bolden's progress in TC is encouraging. He needs a nickname. I'm going with the Boulder.
