You want to really make a statement to the league that the Pats aren't going nowhere Bill?

Pair Lloyd up with Wallace along with Gronk and Aaron. Then we'll see who's laughing at NE.

Most of you crying for youth at the receiver position? Doesn't get better than a frustrated Mike Wallace who's just 25 and about to enter his prime.

Honestly i wouldn't even be upset if we got someone like him and let Wes go. Someone else will fill that slot position no problem, but money can't buy a guy (or in this case can) who gets behind the best d backs in the league and opens up even MORE space for the most devastating TE combo out there with the best in the game throwing the ball.

You know it makes sense Bill, drive a dagger into the Steeler's hearts and get this guy while you can.

Camp has started.

Why are you mentioning Wallace?

Assuming that he's not on their radar I see no connection or dependency on one guy to the other, or one type of receiver to the other. I think the money is there if the right deal is there.

But why spend the money anyway? It's not a fantasy team. With Hernandez lined up wide they have three credible outside threats. I suppose they could always use more speed but isn't that what brought Galloway here?

Who said this season? When Wes plays out this year, get him next if Wallace holds out.

We've been down this road before. Wallace is a RFA. They either sign him long term this year or they will tag him either to play or trade him next year. He wants $12M per. You have no idea whether he can play in this offense. According to Tomlin not that long ago they thought he was a one trick pony.

Can we table this discussion until next offseason. There is no way he is going anywhere this year even if he sits out most of the season.

We don't know if he can play in the Pats offense and he will require two first rounders next year when the Steelers franchise him. He wants top WR dollar. I don't think the Pats need him for that much.

The Patriots should get rid of Wilfork and throw all their money at Suh.

WRs are expendable in the pats O...no need to pay the $$ he wants..not even close. Save it to keep hernandez here

This is a wet dream. Those seldom come true, though. I obviously love the measurables and wish the Pats had drafted him instead of Tate, but they passed on him precisely for the reason that Mike Tomlin even stated, which is the fact that he was considered a one-trick pony. In Tate, they saw versatility that, unfortunately, never panned out.

How are we supposed to take this comment? If Suh wasn't such an idiot folks might consider this....

Dump Brady and go after Andrew Luck, too.

I'm not sure what the #'s are exactly, but aren't they unwilling to pay Welker, a PROVEN player in the system $8M-$9M per? So you would expect them to throw over $10M per at a guy who is completely unproven in this offense?

No. I was being sarcastic, and I've been a huge Andrew Luck fan for years.

I hear you. I'd have to think about the trade, myself. 5 years of the GOAT, +/- decline v. 15+ years of "then next great one...". My knee jerk reaction is to laugh and say Brady but, when I say it, I get a bit of a "not so fast" vibe in the back of my mind.

Yeah it's a tough one, and a year from now the answer may be completely different. But as great a prospect as Luck is he's still unproven in the NFL, and Brady is a proven master.

I wouldn't think much about the idea if the discussion were about any position but QB. Teams can win without the GOAT (just ask the Giants), but winning without a top level QB is much more difficult, and the Patriots aren't likely to be in position to draft one as long as Brady is some level of Brady. Making that trade this year would probably cost the Patriots 2 years of SB opportunities, but it would give them 15 +/- years beyond that, if Luck is anything approaching the real deal.

Yeah I wouldn't do it either but it's not like I wouldn't stop and think about for a second. We're not even positive if Brady has more than 2-3 great years left in him. I'd like to think he has that and 1-2 more solid years after that but no guarantee. With the shape our roster is currently in and knowing who's in charge if Luck turns out to be a top 7-8 QB, you're probably looking at at least 10-15 more years of being championship contenders. That said, I can't bet against Brady and I'd go with the sure thing but I'd definitely think about it.
