So now I see...it isn't the fact that he is aging quickly and is no longer a top player....it isn't the fact that he could rarely find seperation with his defender,it isn't the fact that he couldn't run the right routes....

Ladies and gentlemen...the REAL reason why Chad was a failure was because the Patriots asked him to tone down his clown act for the season and not cause a media craze. What a joke!

Did he come out and directly blame the Pats?...no,but if you can't read between the lines.....

I don't care who's playing quarterback. I'm going to have a great year. The first day I get to camp, everybody's mouth can drop the [expletive] open. My game is at the point where it doesn't matter who starts at quarterback. Oprah can play quarterback and we'll be all right."

My personality was controlled last year," he said, according to the paper. "You didn't hear me at all last year. Zero. Zilch. When my mouth is running, it forces me to perform. It's never been vindictive. I never got anybody in trouble.

"One of the things I like about being here, that's so refreshing, and is such a weight off my back, is I can be me, whatever that entails. When I can be me, I am loose. Everything just flows for me. Whether it's the style of play, the way I learn."

Oooooooook Chad.

I am glad this clown is out of here.

This may be his honest assessment of the situation. He probably didn't fit in, and for someone like him that may have impact his performance.

It didn't impact his acceptance of 6 Million dollars.

Give me 6 Million and I will personally super glue my lips together so no one hears me :p

I think most everyone gets it's not vindictive. But they also get something Chad doesn't. What worked for him never worked for the teams he played on. Neither it nor he helped them win. Chad can't be a cog in a wheel. And in a team game that's what you have to be to win.

He's been training harder than ever this offseason so he may have regained half a step in the short term. But he better be careful what he asks for as Oprah could well end up QBing that team. Don't give Ross any ideas... Because then you'll have no one to blame but yourself, only that will never happen.

Of course money changes everything, but it doesn't change his opinion on things. I think peeps get so caught up in the "Patriots Way" of talking to the media. In Chad's case I just think he didn't fit into the NE ways or communication especially since he's a outgoing person.

Keep the excuses coming chad

Chad didn't fit it here in so many ways. His style-of-play and personality were the opposite of what the Pats look for. Shame on the Pats FO on this one; they wanted him and paid him $6M. Terrible evaluation of a player who has already been in the league for many years and who doesn't carry many question marks about what makes him tick.

I could accept what he's saying except.....

He negotiated to stay this year. If it was so bad, why not refuse and get cut?

Sour grapes Chad.

I guess failure to learn the playbook or the receiving routes had nothing to do with it after all! You can send that 6 mil. back Chad if you didn't like it here!

We'll see when the pads come on and the games are for real whether or not he's correct. The Dolphins play a much simpler offense and one that is more similar to what the Bengals ran (and probably still run) when Chad played there. Any athlete in his position would feel like he or she has something to prove. He probably feels really good physically and is comfortable with what he's seen in the playbook. None of it matters, though, until the games are really being played.

I don't see any reason to be too upset with what he said. What did we expect? Did we expect for him to come out and say admit he was an idiot who could not grasp the offense in NE? Of course not. He had to find something or someone to blame when asked why he thought he couldn't cut it here. He only latched on to what many in the media (Dukes and the like) were saying last year anyway. In reality, few people are ever able to point the finger at themselves. It's always someone else's fault for their perceived failures.

Let's just skate around the real issue here-namely, stick a fork in him, he's done. Maybe that will sink in this year.

I think I remember hearing this from him right before mini camp this year... something like things are different this year, now you're going to see the real Chad, blah blah blah. I'll believe it when I see it.

I defended Chad through most of the year last year, just assuming he was so far down the targets chart that he wasn't going to get a lot of looks. But it never got better, and even injuries to other options didn't help get him in the game. He'll do better in Miami simply because they have fewer targets and a simpler offense, but he's no longer an impact receiver in this league.

Unfortunately for a large portion of today's athletes its all about getting that contract with lots of $$$$$ but not living up to expectations for that money since lots of money from these guys often comes more important to them than becoming a contributing player of a winning team.

Then again,I didn't think he had anything left even if he had went all out on the field.

Who do you think will have a better season Mo?...Randy or Chad?

Both players were noted to be practicing well for their new teams.

Ochocinco (I refuse to call him by his new name) is a wierdo.

I'm actually impressed that even the Patriots could keep Chad 'in check'. We all know that he is the kind of guy to continue his shenanigans and pay for it later. On the Pats, he actually was quiet (unfortunately that applies to 'on the field' as well).

Yes, Chad. Your personality being tempered was what ultimately led to your complete failure to understand the offense and the option routes associated with it.

:bricks:

Definitely Randy, who still has the greatest hands in the league.
