Bills Writer's Blueprints for Beating Pats: Predicts Sweep

Let's see here:

(A) They only won their first game because Brady had his annual regular-season #@%! game against them (incidentally, in a game where Hernandez didn't play).

(B) In the rematch, the Bills only managed to become the first team in NFL history to go from up 21 after one quarter to losing by more than 8 points—and they lost by 28!

Meh, it's the same thing we hear all the time. Control the clock to keep Brady off the field, and when he IS on the field, pressure him without blitzing. Simple right?

Except the only team that has shown able to do that consistently is the Giants (ugh). All the other teams that have had good days against Brady, typically don't do so well the next time out (Jets, Bills, Steelers though they alternate, etc).

The "Blueprint" is the same for any good QB, it's having the personnel to execute it, THEN actually following through with that execution. Williams and Anderson are great additions, but as the Eagles showed last year, it takes more than just good additions for a team to make the next step.

Everything he says is fine right up until the end. I would literally bet my entire net worth that the Bills don't sweep the Pats this year if Brady plays both games. They seem to think that they have become the Giants simply because of the emphasis on the front 4 but the Giants still have two things they don't; an excellent QB and an excellent HC. No personnel alone is going to beat Bellichick and the Pats twice in one season without having football minds that know how to play the leveling game with him, and no defense alone without a damn good QB is beating Brady either. Even though all the Giants games have come down to the wire already, the Pats are way more capable of dealing with front 4 pressure than they were last year imo.

Mark Anderson and Mario Williams were on the Texans defense a couple of years ago and they had the 32nd pass defense in the league.

I think Bills fans are getting a little too ****y of their offseason acquisitions. They lost eight of their last nine games.

Meaning, the Colts had the same final 9 weeks of the season as these guys.

Anything can happen any week...If the Bills play better in both games they will win both games..if they don't,they won't,....Mr.Obvious

I think the teams each win one game....I see the pats going 4-2 in the division

Maybe, the Buffalo Bills and their beat writers ought to try to figure out how they get through the 2012 regular season without getting swept by the Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets like they did in 2011 before they worry too much about winning the division.

Didn't they lose 16 of their last 17 against us?

Suddenly it's easy to beat the Pats, huh?

His analysis of the Pats D and off season is off base IMO, but it's the week TC opens so why shouldn't he be optimistic.

Who cares? Predictions are like arses. Everyone has one and most really stink.

I'm wicked pissed.
Just got tix for the Bills game at Gillette 11/11 and NOW, when it's too late, I find out it's a loss.

Good Grief!! The Bills finally get a win against the Patriots and they think now they can sweep the Pats. What is this world coming to?

Yes, the Bills have improved and I think they finish 2nd in the division, but no way do the sweep the Pats or take the division, that's just crazy thinking.

Pats will only lose 1 division game this season, probably to the Bills. Pats will sweep the Jets and Dolphins.

Hypocrite alert:

Kyle Arrington was the big INT guy but most of those were due to be in the right place at the right time than due to amazing coverage skills.

I see the Bills improving on their split from 2011 and sweeping the Patriots in 2012

Didn't Buffalo only win their game at home (and first in a decade) because Brady threw a slew of INT's, at least two of which were tipped to guys who were in the right place at the right time?

Can't have it both ways.

Bills Blueprint for beating the Patriots: Play them once every ten years and pray it is Brady's off day.

The Bills win last year had to do with Brady's second half mistakes and the defense not able to stop the Bill's offense,The Pats only needed to run time off the clock and limit mistakes and that game was theirs..easily.

Unless Brady throws multiple INTs and the Pats defense once again being very giving,I don't see a Bills sweep but more of a 1-1 record between the two at worst.

And to think, after all the flukiness that went into that game, the Pats still would've won it had Spikes gotten a millimeter more of the ball so the ref actually saw that it was tipped and therefore couldn't be called PI (in the end zone).

On one hand it's nice to see so much optimism from a fan base that hasn't had a winning season for so long.

On the other hand I find it a bit surprising - if not annoying - that a fan base that has not made the playoffs since Doug Flutie was their quarterback in the last millennium - is acting confident, to the point of arrogance. If they're like this coming off a 6-10 season, I can't imagine how unbearable they will be if they actually have a winning season.

The article is pretty much Ray Ray posting for the Bills. The Bills' plans for victory apparently consist of Solder wetting himself, the Patriots defensive secondary being as bad as last year, and every Bills move panning out while none of the Patriots moves do the same.

I'm not really sure that's the best blueprint for a Bills win.

Ah well seasons over already then :( Getting swept by the Bills AND Jets?

Amazing how signing a few over-rated players makes both those fan bases think the teams will actually be anything more than mediocre as always.

A way to turn it to your advantage: the Pats will likely be giving points, so sell the car(s), mortgage the house and put every cent you can get your hands on on the Bills. Instant wealth. That's my plan for it, anyway. Please don't call me after the game...
