Celtics acquire Courtney lee!!!

Assuming the deal is consummated acquiring Jason Terry and Courtney Lee to replace Ray Allen is an Ainge masterstroke.

Now, if only they could sign Andray Blatche (somehow) given he's cleared waivers. That would be another big body for the Celtics.

I love this trade ... a great trade ... JaJuan Johnson is a stiff, Sean Williams is a stiff ... 2nd round pick is useless ... E'Twaun Moore I like but he was just bench fodder for the next few years at best.

Way to go Ainge ... you bit another ear off.

In Terry and Lee I do not believe we will miss Ray Allen this season at all and we have 2 players who though a tad less than Ray on offense are both better on defense.

Still trying to figure out what McHale is doing down there. With this trade, I think they will have two guys with more than 3 years experience......

Short term pain for long term gain I'd say. McHale looks like he realizes you're not winning anything in the NBA without 3 superstars and a team filled with role players.

Lee had already been released. So the Rockets essentially got themselves a few low level assets instead of nothing. The Celtics meanwhile got themselves a good player who they wouldn't have been able to get without a sign and trade due to being over the cap. win win for both teams.

Ainge is turning into a good aggressive GM. With the way he acquires vets he is reminding me of G Allen of the Redskins back in the 70's.

depending on injuries (as always) this could be a very competitive squad again.

Wonder how much the performance of the Celts in the summer league games helped facilitate this trade? Moore and Johnson did pretty well the past week.

Lee + Terry >>>>>>>>>>> Allen

For the same price Allen cost last season.

And those guys aren't even our starter. Once healthy, Rondo-Bradley with Terry-Lee backing them up is one sound backcourt rotation.

Good work by Ainge there. He's done nothing at the 5 spot, but his options were limited. I'd give him a B for the offseason so far in terms of execution, with an A for effort.

I'll be looking forward to getting into heated debates with you guys again next season for the ECF.

I love this signing, and what I love most about Lee is that he's been durable. It seems like the Celtics were plagued this past year and Lee has never played less than 58 games in a season, only 4 seasons but still. He will also help with the absence of Ray, they are both actually right around 40 percent for their 3 point percentage. All in all I'm happy with this offseason for the C's, not sure if we can beat Miami but there's still time.

Oh I forgot to mention....... Jason Terry + Courtney Lee > O.J Mayo

Did not understand the significance of these moves, now it seems a whole lot clearer...
