Those early season INT's were awesome and sad at the same time. Sad because, at one point, this secondary was so bad that a NT was leading the team in INT's. Awesome because you generally don't get to see a big man like that rumble downfield with the ball even once in five years... nevermind twice in a season.

Connolly's kick return will still be my favorite of those moments, though.

I dont know man I dont think your giving Vince enough props. Connolly's play was kind of an accident and freak occurance that there was the lane in front of him that there was.

While on the flip side Vince creates everything on this play and IMO he is moving better and shows much more athleticism. Which I guess maybe takes away from it as you are falling in love with the big man moves and moment.

Connolly switched hands, juked, changed pace, attempted a stiff arm, and came within a few yards of scoring. That's why I have him ranked higher.

McCourty WAS flagged on that, no?

Even if he was, that was a good move on his part. I'd rather have the 15 yards brought back and the ball still in NE possession that just allow Tolbert to punch that ball out of an unsuspecting Wilforks hands.

Yes, Big Vince registered his first two career INTs this past season.

He actually had one (albiet very briefly) in the 2005 season opener. Kerry Collins was hit on a designed passing play. The ball popped into the air and Vince pulled it down for the INT.

It stayed an INT until the official scorer re-reviewed the play and it was changed to a fumble recovery.

.

It was noted (and backed up with practice film) that the Patriots have practiced that exact situation (Connolly returning a squib kick).
