Since training camp is right around the corner, I was thinking about going for the first time. Since I'm assuming a handful of you here are die hard and I may go annually, I was wondering which days are best to go out there? Like full pad practices and guys actually having numbers on their jerseys.

No pre planned released padded schedule but two dates i would recommend are 7/30 because the first 2 days by rule are unpadded so great chance day 3 will be padded. and the first joint practice with the saints because good chance they want pads one of the two and the second is a day before a preseason game. That practice is worth seeing either way though.

Yeah, with that training camp schedule I saw from Joker, I think the best decision would be to go to the Saints joint practice in August. It would be enlightening.

As a training camp regular I second signbabybrady's advice.

I could be wrong but I thought that I read somewhere that Belichick was planning to have the first three or four practices without pads (even though only the first two are required with no pads). My guess would to backload the padded practices a bit and not waste padded practices early when some players are either still getting into shape or younger players trying to get adjusted to training camp and the playbook. The new CBA severely limits the number of padded practices and I am guessing that if I am right that Belichick doesn't want to waste them on practices where players are still getting acclimated.

I could be just imagining it or remembering it wrong, I really think I saw that.

I would also recommend, if possible, to go on a weekday. Still going to be packed, but slightly less so than a weekend.

As I stated in my original post BB does not let the public know when he will be using pads so while your post is very logical and highly possible my thinking is what you remember reading would be that the first two days of practices are required by the NFL to be padless.

You certainly could be right about saving the padded practices for later in camp but I am going to stick with my original guess that the 3rd practice will likely be padded after starting camp for 2 days without them. BB and any coach for that matter will be chomping at the bit to start beating them down.

The next day

I don't know if anyone else noticed this during mini camp videos but it seems like the pats have rotated the practice fields 90 degrees. They now seem to be oriented the same as the playing field.

This now makes the grassy hill the new sidline location. The flatter areas of the hill fill up very quick.

I live close by and I was down there in June and nothing was changed like that at the time. It wouldn't take much to re-arrange the stands to do this but not sure why they would.

Heading up Tuesday or Wed. to watch one practice with Saints.

Is the smart money still on Tuesaday as a pads day?

August 7: 1:30pm- 4:00pm (Joint practice with Saints)
August 8: 10am (Joint practice with Saints)

Also some site had Smithfield RI as the practice site for Tue. practice. Do they still use Bryant College for anything?

Site is bogus - no Smithfield

Bet on Tues as game is Thur and teams don't want to hit 2 days in a row

Hey guys, tomorrow is going to be my first time going to the Patriots training camp practice.

I have been in Gillette, but where exactly is the practice field? Do I need to pay/have a ticket? If the practice is at 1:30PM, what time should I arrive to ensure I get a good enough seat to get autographs?

Please let me know and I appreciate the help!

Thank you JOKER :D where would you recommend sitting for the training practice? The side bleacher seats or the "end-zone" ones? If I arrive there by 1PM, would I be able to sit in the first row?

I arrived at 1:00 for a 1:30 practice last week and barely found a spot on the grass. Now it obviously varies from day to day but with the Saints in town I'd say get there as early as possible to get a seat anywhere in the bleachers.

I am going today... I wonder if BB will be back in time for practice
