Ray Allen officially to the Heat

damn, that is too bad. He played well for the Celtics and i hate to see him go. I guess reports are that Wade will play the SF position so Ray can start. Stupid if you ask me, but whatever. So, they have agreed to:

PG: Chalmers
SG: Allen
SF: Wade
PF: James
C: Bosh

So basically 4 guards and a center. Does not make any sense.

Thanks for everything Ray! One of the best shooters to ever play the game.

Wanted him back, but his choice. Better than the Lakers, I guess.

Really, it's an upgrade on Mike Miller and that's about it. Good luck to Allen at Miami. I'm sure he'll do well.

All of a sudden, the signing of Jason Terry looks a masterstroke. Let's get some more quality on that bench now.

Guess the news of Jeff Green 4 yrs/$40 million pissed him off.

Okay ... Celtics signing O.J. Mayo in 5-4-3-2 .....

It was actually reported that his deteriorating relationship with that massive douche nozzle Rondo and the C's plans to bench him long term for Avery Bradley had more to do with it.

And Boston Boxer, that's untrue IMO. Ray will be coming off the bench for the Heat. They're looking at the likes of Marcus Camby (eh) to move Bosh back to PF.

so he took less money to have the same job with the Heat? That is definitely strange. He will never see the basketball with the Heat. Rondo is no more a douche nozzle than Dbag Wade.

all the reasons allen may have left are totally weak. he leaves a team because hes mad at rondo? really? pathetic. hes mad at danny ainge for trying to trade him? equally pathetic. a gm tried to trade him. omg ray say it ain't so :rolleyes:a gm doing his job. hell they even were willing to give a no trade this time around and they offered him 6mil per year more so spare me the lack of respect bullsh!t. playing time? he would most likely been the starter till some time in dec when bradly was expected back from surgery. so that would have been his opportunity to earn his starting job back. doc would have started him over terry no doubt. last but not least a chance at another ring. if that's the reason he left its a total slap in the face to his former team mates. the celtics were a game away from the finals for christ sake. all of a sudden he doesn't believe in his team? aren't most players happy with a team bringing in players that increase there chance of winning a title like jason terry does for the celtics? considering how poor of a defender allen is now maybe the celtics are better off. i wanted allen back because it would have added so much depth to the team. if i had a choice of allen or terry at this time in there careers i choose jason terry without hesitation.

He'll see more minutes with the Heat than he would have with the C's sitting behind Bradley. He also recognizes that Miami is his best chance to win another title before he retires. Furthermore, MIKE MILLER saw the basketball with the Heat. Why the hell wouldn't Ray Allen?

As for the Rondo-Wade debate, please remind me of the last time that Wade attacked a camera man or a referee, or threw a hissy fit and destroyed team property.

are those official D Nozzle stats? Your whole team is unlikeable outside of glittzy south beach where half the fans are coked off their ass.

I dont hate Allen for leaving. I wish him well. He was a good Celtic and a better person. I knew him when he went to high school in Dalzell SC and played baseball with his dad Walt while in S.C. His family was messed up...Dad had a thing for the ladies, which is not a good habit to have when you are married. Ray turned out alright and i wish him well.

I think that's the main reason he left ... he can survive a few more years in the NBA as a scorer but if he has to play defense he's not worth any salary over a few million a year. He wants to start and not play much defense ... can't do that in Boston. On this note I say he's playing his cards well.

Let's review what we know based from the likes of Jackie McMullan or Woj:

1) Ray Allen was upset with Rondo's rich extension in light of his own contract situation
2) Ray Allen was upset with Avery Bradley starting, and Rondo's endorsement of it
3) Ray Allen was upset with Rondo correcting him on the court
4) Ray Allen was upset with Ainge & Doc trading him for Mayo during the year, only to see the trade fall through
5) Ray Allen was upset with the C's courting KG so hard

Those are the main reasons Ray Allen are leaving - and none really have anything to do with Rondo's behavior. In fact, what little insight we have into the Celtics locker room show the organization - and KG and Pierce specifically - supporting Rondo and ready to hand the franchise over to him. It was Allen who has resisted, and it's probably why Ainge went out and grabbed Terry even if it meant further pushing Ray away.

That isn't to say Ray isn't a good guy - by all accounts, he's one of the true good guys in the NBA. But he's also incredibly stubborn, borderline OCD, and very set in his ways. The fact that he and Rondo did not mesh is not an indictment on Rondo.

As for Ray - people forget how good he was playing at the beginning of last year. Which Ray will Miami get? I hope for our sake they get the corpse who already helped Miami win a ring this past year. I fear that they will get a healthy Ray Allen who was burying 3's with an even increased efficiency as he was to start the year. We have no way of knowing until this winter.

OT: "attacked"? That's a bit of hyperbole, kontra

It's unfortunate he couldn't stay but I'm not losing any sleep over it. He's got this year and maybe one more, I have a hard time faulting him because he wants another ring. On another note, let's trade for K. Love
