Really interesting article from Coby Fleener talking about the NFL rookie symposium. Good to see the Patriots dominating in the "challenge" component of the event too! And sure enough, it comes with an asterisk!

----
After dinner, the "Challenge" results were announced. I have to say that while I was suspicious as to how the Browns got their answers in so quickly, I was equally skeptical of the Patriots' dominance throughout the competition. Either way, I was probably just being a sore loser.

Congratulations to the following:
5th: Pittsburgh Steelers
4th: Jacksonville Jaguars
3rd: Cleveland Browns*
2nd: San Diego Chargers
1st: New England Patriots*

(* Further investigation pending)

I thought being a sore loser and a colt is the same thing.

Good article. Sounds like a smart guy. (Masters degree from Stanford is suggestive of that too.)

Imagine if Gronk had tried to write such a column ...

Gronk would have posted a video. Haha. In all seriousness, it's amazing to hear of gronk's records in canton and realize he's only finished year 2. It's nice to have a first ballot HOF in Tom Brady once in a decade but to have 2 (if stay healthy) in the same offense is special.

Nice sense of humor...

Article is a great read, Cambridge Person. Glad the NFL puts some serious effort into helping these kids get their heads on straight.

I think it's the third or fourth time the Pats rookies have won.

I suppose he thinks he is being funny. It seems to me that he is a natural-born Colt, i.e., already a turd.

Call me crazy, but I just don't have an ounce of residual rancor towards the Colts.

They got rid of that Sphincter, Polian, Peyton's gone, and, therefore, the entire face of that "succesfull" team of the last decade with'm...So what's to hate??

Me, I like this team: QB Andrew Luck was the obvious choice, but he's still a terrific Prospect, TE Coby Fleener is an awesome Prospect, who I find to be a likeable, intelligent, and funny guy, having read that Article...And I furthermore like their not only going for the Synergy of snagging Luck and Fleener from the same team, but also doubling down on High Grade Tight Ends by grabbing TE Dwayne Allen in the 3rd Round, which I consider to've been an absolutely brilliant move...And I consider snagging SL Ty Hilton in the 3rd Round and ~ especially ~ NT Josh Chapman in the 5th Round to've been Steals, to say nothing of some sweet UFA moves.

Above all, though: cutting Peyton loose was not only the right thing to do, but took the balls of a LION.

Irsay = chief Sphincter and architect of the tanking plan

I always thought that the Colts were pretty gracious losers, with a few exceptions (Marcus Pollard). They're certainly not the Ravens, Chargers, or Jets.

The only Colts who I ever really disliked were Marvin Harrison and Marcus Pollard, and they're both long gone. Peyton pissed me off, but I didn't hate the guy, and he's gone too. And like you said, Polian was a ****, but he's also gone, so... yeah, I'm with you. Some of their fans suck, but some of every fanbase sucks, including ours (the Patriots trolls on other teams' forums are just as bad as the trolls that we get here), so can't really hold that against the team.

thanks for the reminder... forgot to read it today.

Since the Pats have won three of the last five of these events, does that qualify them for having a dynasty?

I just don't like them + manning has been sort of a sourpuss in his losses.

Don't be silly. How could he take off his shirt in writing?

BTW, does he like airport Starbucks?:D

All good points, but I'll still have plenty of residual rancor. Just a hard button to turn off after so many years of misplaced holier-than-thou attitude, playing the saint to the Pats' devil. Plus them being so good for so long. ;)

I heard Zolak on the radio a year or two ago, talking about Parcells. He said even back when he was here Tuna always hated playing that team. Something about they have a ridiculous logo and ugly uniforms and they play in the middle of nowhere. It was actually pretty funny.

Let's not forget Polian and the rest of the organization crying that the big bad Patriots "mugged" their receivers in the '03 AFC Title game. The Colts didn't lose that game--the Patriots D broke the rules to rough up their pansy offense. Remember that?

Changing rules or the "emphasis" of rules or whatever the bleep Polian was up to does not in any way make me think gracious.

Loser? Yes. Gracious loser. Nope.
