I hope Ridley is on that page. I would like to see O-coordinator Brady call a few more running plays this season.

I hae no problems with saying that the offense goes through Tom Brady, but I would certainly say the BB runs the organization. BB might be as close to TB as any player can be to him, but I'd be shocked if he asked (or required) Tom's opinion on matters with special teams and defense.

The fact that Maroney never played a snap that counted after giving up the Ray Lewis sack in the playoff blowout would go along with your statement.

Agreed

But it's certainly a perspective for a first-second year player as they've been hearing about Brady during their football-formative years (last 11 so College and High School plus some) and getting to play with someone who's guaranteed lock as First Ballot HoFer.

I would rather see awe and reverance in my younger players than too much arrogance/****iness. It certainly means he loves the game and hopefully understands what Brady did to get himself to this position (Hard work, dedication, always improving your game and listening).

Yeah, you're right - this team would be so much better if it didn't have an explosive passing offense. It's strengths really are run blocking and defense, and if they just got away from that pesky pass offense which brings them down, they might go 19-0.

BTW - as for that "Colt offense", you do realize that the Colts and the Patriots have represented the AFC in four of the last six Super Bowls. It really sucks how we're one of the best teams every year. That must get tiring for someone as unnecessarily negative as you.

I've always wondered how much impact Brady's missing '08 had on the locker room, and the problems of 2009. My understanding is that injured players aren't seen much around Foxboro, and I've gotta think part of that '09 team issues had to do with other players having too much influence in Brady's absence. As a fan, I believe Brady and BB both recognized this, and have reshaped the team back into their image, starting in the 09-10 off-season. All for the better.

The lockout might have contributed, but the biggest issue by far IMO was Afailius Thomas' realization that the Patriots simply could not cut him no matter what, because of the unique cap rules in place in 2009 (they would have had to take a $7M cap hit to get rid of him).
