what emergence?...wha??? what has Detroit won...EVER??? ranking ANY WR over a QB that has taken his team to multiple Super Bowls, an undefeated regular season, 9 division titles, thrown for over 5000 yards with second tier WR talent for the bulk of his career?? This is total unmitigated ignorance and stupidity that flows forth from the shallow sewer of Nike commercial fanboys.

The NFLN is for entertainment purposed only, it is a TV show.

Drew Brees ranked No. 2 on the NFL's 'The Top 100: Players of 2012' - New Orleans Saints Football NFL News - NOLA.com

The NFL Network didn't do the New Orleans Saints any favors when it unveiled its list of the league's top 10 players on Wednesday night.

Brees, who is still in negotiations with the Saints to sign a long-term contract, was the No. 2-ranked player in the NFL's 'The Top 100: Players of 2012,' a list which was put together entirely by player vote.

Presumably the implication is that this vote will help Brees and hurt the Saints in their contract negotiations. Not sure that I buy into that, but with Condon as Brees' agent, who knows.

Also, based on the first couple of comments the reaction may be rather amusing to follow.

I just have a problem with Brees ahead of Brady. Here is a guy who has a MINIMUM of 9 dome games a year, and racks up crazy stats with more pass attempts than Brady in his nice little dome. (Sound familiar?) In his very few times he actually plays outside, he isn't all that great.

Meanwhile Brady doesnt play one game all season in a dome.

I have said this before in threads about this "ranking" thing.

Why do we care? I mean, I can see why the players might care because they are competitive with their peers.

But, why do we care? It's just a ratings-driven, highly political process that is all about stirring up a fuss and getting people to pay attention to it, which, unfortunately, it has done here.

The morons at the NFL Network, who know less about football than my 90 year old mother, look at a thread like this and think, "Ka-ching!"

I think he played 11 dome games this year. Brady finished 200 yards behind him but Brady didn't have the deep threats that Brees had. I honestly couldn't care less about the yards but it just shows that Brady played amazing.

Brady could be ranked 4th, 27th, 95th, or even 199th by the voters. As long as he's there hoisting the Lombardi come February of 2013, than it won't mean a damn to me how highly or lowly the rest of the league and commentators perceive him.

Exactly .

Can someone summarize the things Sapp, Sanders, and Irvin were saying in defense for Tom?

Come on guys lets be honest and call this yearly top 100 sham for what it is. It's there to rile up fans while the offseason is in swing.

Graham higher than Gronk, Brady lower than Brees and Megatron... Nothing against these great players but everyone knows this things a crock.

No one can argue that the league MVP is number 1 and Rogers had a phenominal season and deserves those accolades. Megatron deserves to be the number 1 reciever on the board but you ask any GM rank players you would want to win for just this one season you will get a Brady Rogers 1/2, Brees 3 thats just the way it is.

Nice conversation peice but any ranking that says Wilfork dropped 40 places this year from last year is rediculous after the basically all pro season he had. I am sure you could find other instances for other teams as well.

I really don't care about these rankings. Brady has more rings than those 3 combined that's all that matters to me

Stafford did pass for over 5,000 yards last season. I would call that an emergence.

Should have been 1 or 2. I had a feeling he might get snubbed and be at 3 but 4?? really? Neither Rodgers nor Brees could get their team to the championship, Flynn went in and had a career game, better game then Rodgers has ever had, when he started for Rodgers.

But that's okay, I'm sure this just adds fuel to Brady's fire!! I'm picking SB this coming season and Brady league MVP!

Sapp said Brady will be 1 next year. He said he was 2 this year behind Brees. Marshall Faulk said Brady was his pick at #1 IHO (Unbeleiveable!). Irvin talked up Brady as well but said Megatron would be the man next year and blabbed abou WR respect.

Sapp was effusive in his ethusiasm about what Bill did for the D and the addition of Lloyd and said he thinks Brady and BB will hoist #4 this season. Sanders was more or less a fly on the wall

Personally, I've given up caring what other people think about Tom Brady on a comparative basis. I know what I think of Tom Brady. That's enough for me.

yeah..sorry for being unclear...my mistake....what I was trying to reference was Detroit itself emerging because of Megatron, and therefore ranking him over Brady....or Eli ...or Peyton..or even Rothlisberger....in fact, now that I've thought on it for a few hours and let the notion bang around in my spacious cranium,I'm done with this garbage. Put it this way, using the decision making that led to a so-called sentient being ranking Megatron over Brady or the other QB's I mentioned is like saying Terrell Owens was the best player on the field during the Super Bowl with Philly, which was also vomited up on that channel at the time.
