Do you respect them as thinking that they have worked hard the past few years and have kept the core of receivers and QB on hand and deserve to go to the Super Bowl if they hand us a defeat? or do you think they are just an overpaid group and don't deserve a chance to get to the SB Championship game no matter what happens on sunday.

Personally I think if they beat us,especially if they win easily sunday they deserve to go,They have been all but eliminated by the media before the playoffs began because of the 32nd ranked run defense which has turned around,If anytihng I think the defensive part of the team has definately earned the right to grab the brass ring if they hold us down - I don't think they will but if they do they willl have finally earned respect and no better way for the Colts to earn respect but to beat the team which has had their number in the playoffs.

I respect Bob Sanders the most on the Colts,That man can change a defense almost singlehanded and its ability to stop the run simply by being out there and stuffing the box - If he was still injured like he was most of the season I guarantee we would be playing the Ravens this sunday.

Like I said I think we continue our dominance of them on sunday but this is definately their best chance ever to win, especially at home and Peytons defining moment as QB to prove he is not just a stats specialist in the regular season and a playoff nightmare - This ought to be a classic..

respect? They are a "good" team and Manning is a good QB. That's the best I can say. I can also say I'd be rooting for either NFC team (hopefully NO) if the Pats lose.

I respect the Colts because they are always "there". However, I question their intelligence as an organization when, year after year, they continue to DUMP money on the offense while continuing to have a painfully mediocre defense. I'm not going to let the last 2 weeks' performance by the Colts' D affect my prediction for this game.

I say the Pats win BIG....by at least 10. There is no way BB is going to allow the Pats to be tied or up by only 3 come late 4th Quarter as I don't think there is ANYONE who would doubt that Adam WILL hit that kick.

The players? Most of them (I can't stand Peyton or Dallas Clark). The organization itself? Not with that scumbag Polian as President.

I do respect their consistency and their recent grittier efforts.

Screw this if they win crap. It only makes me want to stomp them more to make sure they've stopped wiggling.

That's respect. It's them or us, and them just isn't a possibility I will accept.:violent:

I forgot about Polian, that does downgrade my opinion alot.

I disagree about this being their best chance.
I think last year was their best chance - the broncos had knocked the pats out and they were at home - but they had the steelers beat and coughed up the bit in crunch time!

I definently respect the Colts. I think for the most part their players and coaches carry themselves with class, and they have been most consistantly good team over the last four years other than the Patriots of course. Peyton Manning is a great QB who I believe will eventually go to a Super Bowl (hopefully not this year). However I have no respect for the Colts upper management namely Bill Polian and the Irsay family. Polian is an arrogant jerk who whines about the officiating when the Colts lose (and even when they win apparently.) He displays no class in winning or losing ("Break his leg!"), and if I have to see that guy hoist the Lamar Hunt Trophy on sunday I will be sick to my stomach. As for the Irsays, their family abandoned one of the best football fan bases in the country in the middle of the night, an unforgivable act by my estimation. So there it is. I respect the Colts players as well as TOny Dungy and his coaching staff but their upper management I have no respect for.

I disagree.

I think one of the more delicious scenarios involves the game coming down to the final seconds and the colts having to hit a long difficult field goal to tie,
just like it happened in san diego, and having vinatieri think about the ironic pressure involved and missing the kick! - it totally could happen - he's only missed 3 kicks all year and 2 of them were against the pats - there's defiantely emotion onvolved there.

just imagine the headlines - vinatieri wins another one in the final seconds for the pats!

I hate them but I respect them.

What football fan could not respect them? They are a good football team.

:ditto: That's pretty much my take. I respect the players(although Manning sense of entitlement gets to me) but Polian is a scum-bag.

as football players I repect them for their ability to compete.
manning and harrison and wayne and addai are great offensive players and they can score quickly and are hard to stop. Their defense has played better lately but I still think aren't that great. they can play well when they are super motivated but a good offensive team and gameplan should be able to score on them.

as people, I don't respect them.
I think they whine too much, and especially in the media.
I think they blame other things other than themselves too much - they should accept responsibility for their role in the losses and maintain the team concept and not point fingers ever.
I think they put on public displays of childish behavior showing a lack of poise, maturity, and class.
Maybe it's because I'm a pats fan and football breeds hatred between rivals, but I just don't like them.

but talent wise, you have to respect their abilites.

I respect what the Colts can do; they can just go crazy on offense at any given time, and while it appears that we have a much more formidable "O", they were able, defensively, to stop their two previous playoff foes. However, I do not respect the Colts themselves. They are whiny and because they are always messing with the rules and the refs have appeared to cheat their way into the Big Boy's League. They need to get rid of Bill Polian and their whiny attitude when anything doesn't go their way before I will ever respect the Colts themselves.

Peyton whines every game no matter the score or outcome.
Polian whines every game no matter the score or outcome.
Dallas Clark wonders why no Pats/Colts game are ever played in Indy. Obviously not understanding to play post season games at the RCA Dome, you have to be better than NE. Brainless.

BUT, very rarely is a Colts player "character" called into question. Will you see Joe Addai stopped at the airport because of (alleged) weed in his water bottle? No. Just those nice Inside the NFL segments explaning how his best friend got paralized during a high school game and that he still supports the guy to this day. Financially and emotionally.

I think it's okay to call out the whiners on this team because they DO complain. Alot. But as far as "respect" goes... all of them are class from top to bottom. No Merriman or LT's here.

When Peyton threw 4 picks in the AFC title game in 03, he took every question from the media afterwards. Nothing bad to say about the NE organization. No sour grapes... i.e. San Diego. That is class, IMO.

You have to respect the Colts. Besides the Patriots they are one of the most consistently successful franchises in the league over the same span that we've been winning. They've always fallen short so far, but they're always right there.

They have one of the top two (depending on who you ask) QBs in the league.

And they've won the last two meetings.

The patsfans that don't respect the Colts haven't learned anything from the Patriots or our rival fans who always show up here acting disrespectful.

i respect their ability to score points and i respect their playoff experience. i expect them to have their heads screwed on straight, unlike SD and maybe other teams new to winning. i'd even say i don't espect them to make many mistakes if not for:

I don't respect peyton, who's a self-centered whiner who's also an advertising whore. i hope he never even makes a superbowl and i will always root against him. thankfully he seems willing to oblige my ire.

i respect marvin harrison.

dungy... eh. he is what he is. if you want to crown him, crown his ass. no seriosuly, i can care less about him except that i think he's too soft. i don't really respect his coaching for that reason.

i respect the way Sanders plays. he stands out when he's out there.

Napolian is a joke. guys in his position should be neither seen nor heard. instead we get whining about the refs and "break his %*#& leg!"

I don't respect a franchise whose goal is to sell tickets and simply make the playoffs every year. i respect franchises who place championships above all else.

i respect their kicker, whatever his name is. the guy is clutch.

maybe i'm just being dense but i can't really think of any Colts players yapping over the years. i can respect that. i don't think a colts player has said "the best team lost."

*edit* and i forgot to mention i respect that you don't see mugshots of Colts players. i respect that.

You forgot the liquered up kicker (whom the did rid themselves of last off-season) who said we were ripe for the pickin' last time around. :)

no i don't respect them.

And i never will for as long as i live.

I try to respect all of the football organizations for what they are trying to accomplish, but it is hard to do so with a Patriots Fan bias... God I hate Manning... but you can't help but respect the numbers the man has put up.

I also respect the fact that he chokes in the playoffs.

I think they have a lot of class:rolleyes:
