This was the matchup that I wanted.

OK, it's thursday and for some reason I feel much more relaxed about this.

I tried to visualize the pain and suffering that the Colts and their fans would feel after we go to their place and walk off winners.

That made me feel a lot better.

I wonder where in the stadium Pats players will be allowed to celebrate...:rocker:

Any ideas?

Here's somethng else that gives me comfort.

I want to see another Bang cartoon of the Manning family all choking at the dinner table.

I'd be more nervous if I'd EVER seen a Manning team (college or pro) win a game under big time pressure. Last year, the pressure was on them as they were the top seed. Guess what? They choked at home.

This Sunday, here comes the pressure again. I wouldn't be my life on a Pats win Sunday, but INDY should be the ones who are nervous, not us.

Back in November, I said that I wanted the Patriots to go to Indy and play them in the AFC Championship game. I wanted the Patriots to beat them on their home field and drive a dagger in their hearts.

So, why do I feel so friggin nervous about this game? I didn't last week until the game was well under way.

Maybe because we lost the last two games against them, and Manning ripped us apart. Id be nervous no matter who we were playing.

How about the Colts sideline, so we can dance right in there faces, lol.

After the first round games, I told my father that you wouldn't be able to wipe the smile off my face for a week if NE could take down Indy at their place.

Hopefully this is my dream coming true.

Because unlike in our last two SB runs, the Pats have not inspired us with a lot of confidence. I expected us to lose to the Chargers, then when it got to the fourth quarter and it looked like we had a chance, I started to freak. That was followed after the game by a sense of shock. Face it: How many of us REALLY thought we'd be playing for the AFCC six weeks ago? I'm nervous too -- especially over our secondary's ability to contain the Colts' passing game.

Bingo, Tunescribe, great post.

This, out of all the playoffs we've witnessed over the past years, is the most hard to read.

In 2001 we were caught up in the Magic of it all. We BELIEVED in the magic of the season and how many things seemed to be going our way.

In 2003 and 2004 we were the dominant 14-2 behemoth both seasons. We had confidence brought on by the teams performance.

This season we have 2005's up and down nature and playoff loss in the rearview, along with the fact that we're in a season that was also pretty up and down (as far as 12-4 seasons go). We've got far more reasons to 'doubt' than any season we've been through so far since this all started.

This team has already far exceeded my expectations (I thought 11-5 and then 1&done in the playoffs), so I'm kinda numb after the SD win.

I have NO idea what to expect of the Colts game. I'm nervous as hell, but then I also kinda feel like we're playing with house money so..

It's still a weird feeling to know that we lost McG, Vinatieri, Givens AND Branch all in this past offseason (not to mention the 80% turnover at WR, the holes that still exist where Phifer and TJ left, the youth on the OL and in the secondary, that we played much of the season without Rodney again, ETC ETC ETC), but we're STILL playing for another AFC Championship.

It's sort of surreal. And I love it.

We share that dream and the more I think about the actual game match up's the less nervous I get.
