What you get from Manning after games like those is essentially what he was saying after last week's victory in Baltimore:

"For so long, it's been that the Colts win, but only Peyton Manning loses. Either give me all the credit when we win or give the team the blame when we lose. That way, the Colts would win and the Colts would lose. That's the way I always thought it was."

What really gets me about him, is when he throws his O-line under the bus. I forget what game it was, but he basically put the entirety of his poor playing on the shoulders of the line. I mean come on, these are the guys that allow you to be alive.

I just don't get how that team can look up to him as a leader and give him any respect.

Not to mention, calls his kicker an "idiot" to a reporter with a camera rolling. Now, granted he is right, Vanderjagt is an idiot, but say something like that to him, in the locker room, if you feel that way. I would have expected better out of Manning than that. I can assure you, if the Pats go up there and win, look for the "spin" machines nation wide to start rolling excuses, and of course, blaming someone else. If that happens, look for Tony Dungy to be the one that falls on the sword. Truth of the matter is, this time around they have NO excuses, if they don't get it done. They are the "favorite" (albeit 3 points), it is in their stadium, without weather elements, and someone else (Patriots) did the "dirty work" for them (eliminating the Chargers). So, this time they have the pressure on squarely on their backs, not us. I like the role of "underdog", for a change. We have already created a permanent legacy, trying to add to it, and cement it as one of the best ever. They still have to take that first step in getting to the "big dance".

That was last year, when they lost to Pittsburgh in the AFC divisional playoffs. That was a game in which the officiating tried like hell to bail them out (see Palomolu's interception called back), and they still could not get it done.

Yea, that was the PC where he took such a bad PR hit his daddy had to step in and do damage control. I always wondered what Manning must have said to his O line to overcome what had to be some pissed off protection players.

This part of the quote stands out to me: "Either give me all the credit when we win or give the team the blame when we lose."

What he's trying to say is that HE isn't what makes them win or lose by himself, it's the team both ways, but the way he says it is all wrong. The way he makes it come out is: 'turn it around or get it right, but stop saying the COLTS win and PEYTON loses'.

The funniest part is that he's defending himself against the MEDIA's stance that the losses are his fault. Cuz it's not like -he's- ever taken accountability for those losses that I've heard of. He's always thrown somebody under the bus.

It's so weird, I thought LAST year was the "no excuses" year. Weren't they the top seed and playing at home against a wildcard team? This is a team that people thought might go undefeated. They couldn't even make it to the AFC Championship game. I guess the excuse last year was the Dungy tragedy?

Gawd, what BS. That guy gets his props from every media figure in the country every time the Colts win. It's all about Peyton, all the time. He's "leading the Colts to a 8-0 record" seemingly every year. Then he tosses a few INTs in a playoff game and suddenly everyone's supposed to forget about him?

Man, it's things like this that make me root against him endlessly. He's got some kind of insecurity thing about criticism.
