I am flying to Belguim, I'm moving there for six months, My flight leaves at 6 pm on Sunday on United Airlines.

My question is, does any one have any suggestions on how i could potentially keep abreast of the game during my flight?
I was hoping that maybe my airline (United) might have a live radio feed of the game, but thats being hopeful. I'm trying to move my flight a couple hours back to avoid this awful conflict, but if anyone has any suggestions on how i could follow the game that would be very much appreciated.

Where are you flying out of? If you are flying out of Boston, you will probably have a Boston based flight crew and you could ask them to get updates for you.

Yeah, air phone. too bad you're not flying Jet blue, they have TVs in the seat backs. If I was you, I'd find some way to get someone in Belgium to tape the game for you, avoid any sports scores at all costs, and watch the game in your hotel room.

some airplanes have XM radio which includes espn radio. hopefully you're lucky.

Yeah I had TVs the last time I went on Jet Blue which was great because I could watch BC beat NC and get into the ACC Championship Game vs Duke. That was the most enjoyable plane ride ever. Sucks man, but I hope you find a way.

Switch to American, and look 'shifty.' After they boot you, you can watch the game at the airport bar and then collect 400 grand.

You're out of luck on United. Switch to Lufthansa, they have wireles internet available on many of their planes. Bring a laptop and follow the score on espn.com or whatever. Or the game thread here!

Or better yet, leave Monday instead!!

Just fly with Mike Vick. He'll share his water bottle with you and you'll forget about the Pats for awhile. :eat3:

I have a similar though less extreme problem... I have had concert tickets for Sunday night at 7:30 for a while. They are a Christmas gift from my wife, we try to see this group every time they come to town but haven't seen them for three years and there is no way to avoid going. I am probaly going to take an FM radio with an earphone... I will just have to avoid standing up and shouting in inappropriate places :) Anyone remember the old Simpsons episode where Homer was secretly listening to a football game while in church (while the sermon was on the evils of gambling)?

Blow off that concert! Give yourself food poisoning the night before.

Problem solved.

I think that you are out of luck on a translatlantic flight -- for obvious reasons, you're not going to get TV reception and phone is pretty unlikely.

I know Ghent well. It's a great town. As are Louvain, Bruges and (so I'm told -- I've only spent a couple of afternoons there) Antwerp. I think Brussels is OK. What's true of all of Belgium is that the food is fantastic (better than France, I'd have to say!)

Bruges is the most beautiful smelly city I have ever spent time in.
