Dont'a Hightower!!!

Not only does he has great size but great speed for his size, as well. My expectations for this guy is very high, considering that he was a 4 year starter under Coach Saban's defense. So high that I'm thinking defensive rookie of the year!! With Mayo, Spikes, and Ninko (depending on if we play in a 3-4) getting a lot of attention; this kid will have only one man to get pass which, from his highlights, is not hard at all. Dont'a Hightower will be our blitzer with the speed that he has.

I honestly think that after the 2012 season we WILL have the best LB corps in the league!!!:rocker::singing:

He may be great, but how many reps is he gonna get at MLB???

Lots of pretty good guys in the rotation right now... but injuries can be the equalizer.

STERLING MOORE!

Someone who just doesnt get enough attention around here. I like big play making ability in players and in him I see the kinda guy that can make the crazy pass defenses and interceptions that can change games.

I hope he's on the field more often. I'm not sold on Dowling.

The stable of RB's the Pats will have, especially Ridley and Vereen.

Explosive is the word :D

The Patriots and the 2012-13 season! They have loaded up on both offense and defense and look poised to make another go of it for their faithful fans! Tom Brady is happy & healthy; BB is pissing off the Giants by stealing their players; training camp set to open on July 27th! So far it's all good! Go Pats!!

Tom Brady's haircut!

He only has one way to go - UP! - after that debacle at the Met gala event.

I think more in terms of 3-2 (Dime) and 4-2/3-3 (Nickel) packages where with Mayo, you have two LBs with good speed and good instincts to cover both run and pass.

is that official? the 27th? is that the first day they report? whens the first day open to public?

Welker having his most monstrous season maybe ever while proving it was a mistake by BB and Co. not to sign him to a long term deal when they could have. Welker's going to play so lights out that he'll be able say no, no, no to anything but the highest of $ figures and the Pats will have to swallow hard and franchise him again or he'll be gone for good.

That's what was reported on SI.com. Beyond the date, no other info given. All the other teams were around the same time.

I think that he will help the team a lot. Good pick by the pats.

I'm very high on him as well, but I'm not so high on your username. ;) He's like Mayo and Spikes combined only he has pass-rushing capabilities as well.

Ease up tiger. At present, we have one Pro linebacker. That's a lot of improvement from the rest of the LBers before they can be considered at the level you propose.

I was sure that the Steelers were gonna snatch up Hightower at #24 but they filled a glaring need instead by selecting an O-lineman. I was so thrilled to see BB move up to grab him! Barring injury he will be a Demon-Beast-Nightmare for many years for opposing offenses....

I forget who said it but I heard a commentator say BB knows a thoroughbred when he sees one. I couldn't agree more!

I have a great feeling about this whole team especially now we have another deep threat at WR

Love the Hightower pick. Kid plays the game violent and fast. And his build reminds me of Mayo. Could be a real impact player on D for us, and we do need more playmakers back there!

JOSH MCDANIEL:rocker: back at the offensive helm. I see a lot of talk about the improved D based on the talent they've brought in, and I think everyone should be excited about that. However, one thing that has been overlooked in that regard is how Josh factors in to that. With him focusing on the offense and basically coaching that side of the ball on his own, he allows BB to spend more time with Patricia and the defense. This cannot and SHOULD NOT be overlooked. That is a huge factor and the one I am most excited about.

I really don't think we see a guy who falls in love with the WR's and fails to acknowledge the TE's this time around. Josh had plenty of time to see the TE's at work and I expect he will fully utilize them with the full offseason to play with and tinker. As much excitement as there is surrounding Lloyd (and with good reason), I think Hernandez will be one that benefits immensely from having a creative offensive mind like Josh's around. Look for big things from him barring injury.

Ridley and Vereen, no question. If either can become legitimate running threats, this offense goes to a whole new level, and they provide more incremental help to Brady (in particular his health) than any other offensive players.

(I guess that sounds more like, "who do you have the greatest hope for?" but I have great feelings about them regardless).

I remember hearing that Baltimore was preparing to pick up Hightower to be groomed as Ray Lewis' eventual replacement. Those are some pretty big shoes to fill, and IMO that helps show what teams thought about him. Some players are just too good to pass up, and that is why I think BB went out of his comfort zone to draft up and snag him in front of Baltimore. Hightower is a very polished player with tremendous upside, who will be making an impact from day one. He hasn't even taken a snap yet and I dare say he's the most versitile LBer we have. Great pass rushing skills, good in coverage, can play LDE, RDE, MLB, WOLB, SOLB....a truly versitile force for our defense.
