Former Patriots wide receiver Chad Ochocinco has signed a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Ochocinco was released by the Patriots last Thursday, after the team was unable to trade the 34-year old pass catcher.

By signing with Miami, Ochocinco will now have a chance to play his former team twice this season, but he will have to wait a while: the two teams don't meet until Dec. 2 and Dec. 30.

85 clearly wanted to face his old team, but wanted to make sure he had time to l have a 50/'50 chance of learning the playbook first.:D

This will be a playbook for Ryan Tannehill... I'd give him a 55% chance at least ;)

might as well leave that side of the field WIDE open..he won't know the playbook by then

Actually how will be able to cover him if we
don't really know which play he is supposed to be running. :p:p:p

hope he has career games against the jets and does squat against the pats.

Well it's official.

It's official that the Dolphins might have the worst overall set of WRs in the league

Just for giggles one of the Pats' CBs should tell him where to line up when they face him on the field.

I wonder if he'll fall for it. :D

Actually, I feel a little guilty doggin' Ocho so much. It's just so easy to do. Off the field, exactly where I thought he'd have the issues, he was pretty damn good. For that he deserves some credit. Yes, he cost way too much and produced way too little. But it wasn't like he was an Albert Haynesworth or Joey Galloway level disaster.

It was never about the "playbook" it was all about being able to make sight reads in mid route. Its not something everyone can do, even accomplished receivers like Ocho, Joey Gallaway, or Tory Holt. I would think by now people would understand that this offense isn't for EVERYONE. And those who can't function within it, aren't necessarily bad, stupid or incompetent players. They just don't fit THIS offense.

I know there are people out there who somehow feel empowered when they can diminish a player from the security of their computer. Chad Ochocinco has been a great receiver in this league for many years. You don't accomplish 11,000 yds by being "ochostinko".

People should give Chad credit for working hard and being a good team mate in what must have been the most frustrating, humbling season of his long career. His experience here gave him every chance to act out to his stereotype. He didn't. I'm sad he didn't work out here, but he didn't and now he's gone.

I wish him well for 14 of his 16 games next season and hopes he finds success in his new offense

I wouldn't lump Holt in with the other two. He had knee issues in camp, but IIRC he looked good before that. Plus, I'd give the benefit of the doubt to a person who made Pro Bowls in the Martz/Vermeil offense which wasn't exactly go routes and curls.

Miami is so desperate for offense that they told Chad to design a play just for himself.

Good signing for Miami. They need help at receiver and Ocho will contribute.

That's what I thought, until I looked at Miami's receiving options and realized Ocho is toward the top of it. I almost feel sympathetic toward Moore and Tannehill.

You forgot write the commissioner. Has to make sure the refs are watching him so he can get fined and penalized.

Did Ochocinco run over PATRIOTSFANINPA's dog or something?

No, I think he is just annoyed at Chad's excessive tweeting and attention-seeking. He is so against this kind of behavior that he is posting incessantly about it on a message board.:bricks:

No,I just never really liked his schtick and I don't care for those attention whores ...

I think it all started when he made that you tube video about 5 years ago where he lined up against a thoughbred racehorse and challenged it to a race,While some think this kind of stuff is entertaining I think it's a pretty dumb cry for attention....

BTW I think with you living in that Hollywood atmosphere out west and considering you are still on the young age side,I can understand how you like his stuff....most of us older guys in here see it differently,I suppose.

Besides, the stuff about trouble with the playbook is pure B.S. IMO....I think it's just a fact that Chad is no longer anything but an aged JAG at this point in his career....it's time he went to your hometown and made some movies like old washed up athletes do,Ocho and Hulk Hogan should team up for a comedy video.

Honestly, I doubt very few people in general see it the same as you do. Its very few that can garner that much animosity towards someone that they don't know simply because they are too showy.

I think more than a few in here hold the same sentiments as me,but I don't think its up for a Poll thread on this website ;) ... The younger fans in here like his stuff and that's their opinion and they're entitled to that, some of us see his shtick differently.

No one, including any athlete is ever going to be seen the same way by everyone, that's just the way it is.

Maybe it's me,but every time I have to take a piss I would rather the entire world not know it :p
