The Colts have Ricky Proehl now? When did that happen? I see he's listed on the injury report. Did they bring him in specifically for this game? This is making me real nervous, he's a Pats killer.

I believe he was signed when their other annoying white receiver (Stokley) went down with an injury.

Heh, I remember he said Adam Vinitieri gives him nightmares after the 2 Super Bowls, wonder how he's doing with that.

No, he's been on their roster all season I think.

I haven't looked it up, but I am quite sure they signed him around week 13 or 14 (whenever the Colts played the Eagles).

Proehl retired after last season and came out of retirement on November 27, 2006.

I fear his prognostication skills.

Spooky.

He was actually calling some of our preseason games last August. And I knew he retired at the end of last yr. Then I saw maybe mid season that the Dolts picked him up to bolster their WRs corps. Which is cool, & I'm glad he found a place to play. I have nothing but warm sentiments towards the guy who gave us "THE CATCH.":) Didn't know he was hurt though, that totally sucks.

Come on man, a PATS KILLER? Oh puleaseeeeee!!! Y'all have beat him on every team he's played for. You even got him to cough up the football in SB 36, & he never fumbled w/ us. If anything he guarantees that y'all are going to win the SB now more than ever. He's NEVER been on a team that have beaten y'all in the playoffs. And good lord the Dolts have lost plenty w/out him. So I see it as one more sign in a LONG list of them, that indicates your 4th SB victory is IN the bag this yr. And that just sucks (at least for me anyway).

Hmm, good call guys, my memory was off again. Twice in two days?? Wtf!

Withe Proehl on the Colts, there is no way the Pats can lose. That guy is the kiss of death. :)

Yeah, interesting point. Still, we better have other irons in the fire.

It's interesting that he and Vinatieri are teammates.

His TD catches preceded each game winning drive / kick in Super Bowls 36 and 38. Bill Simmons joked once that Proehl should give the introductory speech to Adam's Hall of Fame induction.

before super bowl 36:
Ricky Proehl, "tonight, a dynasty is born"

man, he sure was right.

I actually just wachted the 3 Games to Glory I DVD Sat. night. That may be my favorite part of the whole thing. Gives me goose bumps every time.

Ricky Proehl - Wide Receiver Jan. 6 - 3:35 pm et

Colts declared WR Ricky Proehl, CB Tim Jennings, DB T.J. Rushing, SLB Gilbert Gardner, OL Ryan Lilja, OL Matt Ulrich, WR John Standeford, and DE/OLB Ryan LaCasse inactive for Saturday's game.

Aaron Moorehead and Terrence Wilkins are the only active wideouts behind Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison. Wayne, Bob Sanders, and Dallas Clark will all play. Gardner lost his starting job to Rob Morris.
