Has any SB coach declined

to coach in the Pro Bowl?

If I was Belichick, I'd decline to coach in the Pro-Bowl so I wouldn't have to deal with all the prima donnas from the Chargers.

If I was BB, here's how I'd word my announcement, "I appreciate the opportunity to coach another game this season, but I don't want to "besmirch" all the "classy" guys who are going to be there. With that, I am going to let Nick Saban and the Miami .... or wait... Nick's not there anymore. Ok, I will let Art Shell... oh wait, Arts gone also. I will let Romeo and the Browns coaching staff coach in Honolulu in my stead. Thank you all for your time."

Parcells didn't go and he sent his assistants when he was with The Jest. Belichick was the HC for the pro bowl. I don't know if an entire staff has ever declined.

SB coaches don't coach in the pro-bowl. The losing coach from the AFCC does. But still, you're on to something here.. If the Patriots did lose the AFCC, I'd wonder if Bill would coach the Probowl or not. Doesn't really seem like his bag of tea.

Peyton would be ecstatic for that chance to continue to pile on his Pro Bowl records. But since Dungy will be his coach, after one quarter he'll spend the rest of the game pouting on the bench.

I was sure that the SB coaches coached the Pro-Bowl and that the losing coaches from the Conference Championship games coached the Senior Bowl. Guess I was mistaken.

Jeff Fisher(Tenn) & Mike Nolan(SF) coached the last Sr Bowl.

I think he meant superbowl-winning coaches, that is, coaches who have won a superbowl (BB, Cowher, Gruden, Billick, Vermeil, etc). Therefore, if the COlts win, the AFC Pro Bowl team will be coached by a SB coach.

Correct, & not even SB losing HCs have to coach the pro bowl. For 4 yrs. Andy Reid was a staple in Hawaii bc the Beagles lost 4 straight NFC Champs. But none of this is anything that y'all are going to have to worry about. The %@%@#$ Patriots don't LOSE AFC Championships.........they just don't. Especially not to the DOLTS. Hell I still don't believe they lost to Denver last yr., & there really should be a recount. Bc the $@%$@% Pattys don't lose in the playoffs, & they don't lose AFC Championships. And that's why they'll win the SB for the 4th time in a few weeks, & that's why I'm so upset. It sucks to NOT be a Patriot fan........sigh. That's just a cross that I guess I'll have to bear.

Yep. I always assume that the Pro Bowl is the unofficial start of the free agency season for the coaching teams.
