Scott Foster...guy who was talking to Tim Donahuge when they were rigging games..yet he is still in the NBA..

This league is a joke and is the main reason why i can't really watch basketball anymore. There is no doubt the NBA sets the matches before they happen..like Miami will go to finals..no matter what. Now that Rose is out..they don't want Chicago to go to the finals

If they rig it like they did last year, they'll let the Heat play the way they have been until the Finals, then make it so that they can't so much as breathe on Durant or Westbrook. As for your post, I don't think they'll even have to rig it. Miami's top competition in the playoffs is now the Celtics... and those legs have logged a lot of minutes.

The NBA is GROSS. It went from the sport I loved the most in the 80's, to the one I like the least now. From their tattoed from head to toe players, to their MTV in game presentation, down to their rancid style of 1 on 1 or shoot a 3 basketball. The league is tough is simply not as enjoyable to watch as it once was. Worst of all about it, is the officiating, and how much control over the game the referees have. I simply don't trust that league to be on the up and up. The series that really did it for me was that Sacramento vs Lakers series a bunch of years ago. The officiating was so blatantly in the tank for the Lakers, that I remember my buddy in LA telling me he thought the game was fixed. And he was a Lakers fan! I watch it cuz I love sports, and will forever be a Celtics fan, but it's the sport I care about the least now.

I dunno guys, if the league could endure the Celtics winning 8 straight times without the fix going in why would they risk destroying everything now?

Has there ever been a rogue person/small group messing around? I'd be surprised if it never happened, but the whole league sanctioning it? No way.

It's the height of ridiculousness to suggest that the league is rigged. We hear people say the same thing about the NFL all the time. Nothing would kill - and I mean compeltely and totally kill - the golden goose faster than a scandal showing things were rigged. (Yes there are examples of individuals acting to fix games, but I'm talking about a league-wide scandal designed to help certain teams).

Chicago lost their best player (with another key player also injured) so they lost their series. It's really not anything more complicated than that and it's certainly not some league-wide conspiracy.

I pretty much gave up on the NBA after game five or six against the lakers...any time we made up some sort of momentum, tweet and a bull**** call against the c's. It got to the point that I could predict them. Meanwhile pierce and rondo were getting mugged all game long to no avail. Haven't watched since we lost game seven, don't have the time to and wouldn't if I did.

i dont think there is anyway the entire league is rigged. that would require a very high level of skill and competence the league doesn't have. and there is just no way in hell they could keep a secret for very long. it would be just a matter of time before it came out.

Like I was saying about the NBA and it's refereeing.... An offensive foul call on a screen, with seconds left in a 3 point playoff game.

i didn't like the call either but the celtics lost that game in the 3rd quarter. thats got to be one of the worst played quarters in celtics history. absolutely putrid.

I mean i am watching these games..but only to hold me over to football which is why i hope the C's at least make it to the next round..but philly is young..a bad thing for the C's.

Refs and the calls have turned me away from being a NBA fan

The NBA has been shady ever since the knick won the right to draft Ewing...Stern in the devil and the NBA is a weak product.

C's will make it to the next round and probably going to face a Miami team coming off of what looks like it will be a grueling 7 game series with Bosh out indefinitely. Suffice it to say, if the two teams make it to the ECF, you'll probably be watching more of the Celtics than you think.

While I too think the NBA has the worst officiating across all sports, your arguing in favor of looking the other way from a clear foul by KG. Which could result in a game altering play? Who himself, stated he had been warned earlier about setting illegal screens.

He was never close to being set and committed a foul to get a potential game winning shot. Because it's 3 seconds left is even more of a reason to call the foul not less of a reason.

No referee wants to make that call.

I would like to add I am a sixers fan but also a huge KG fan and I actually rooted for the C's to win it all in 2008. I wanted to see him get the ring he worked so hard for. So I'm not just a hating sixers fan plus I wasn't around in the 80's when it was an actual rivalry.

I love professional basketball, but at times hate the NBA. If it were any regular old company, it would've faced consequences for its actions at this point - there's no transparency, there's corruption, there's a disregard for the quality of product. It's 101 on how not to run a business.

Yet Stern knows suckers like us will keep tuning in b/c its professional basketball. And that's how it is.

I don't know if the refs are incompetent, corrupt, egotistical, weak-minded, or some combination of all of the above - but they are, generally, terrible. Just terrible. I've ref'd basketball before, not past a high school level, but this isn't rocket science we're talking about. NBA officials have slowly turned basketball into something it wasn't meant to be.

All that said, I am enjoying these playoffs, as I enjoyed last year's playoffs. Even with its flaws, I love the game.

I mean i think they will make the next series...but again..the NBA wants the Heat so the C's won't get past them. Lebron and wade will be taking FT after FT when they play the C's as the refs will be calling a lot on the C's

I have no issue with the moving screen that KG applied being called as a foul. It was a foul and was judged accordingly.

I have one problem with NBA officiating. It is never balanced and lacks consistency. That was obvious when the referees brought the Lakers right back into the contest in 09-10 Finals against the Celtics. The Celtics couldn't touch the ostrich-face or Kobe without committing a foul yet were routinely mugged by the Lakers with no whistle in sight.

They'll be taking more free throws because they drive through the lane more. That point isn't really debatable. However, it did seem last year that a lot of the "non-driving" calls went the Heat's way... until the Finals when it became apparent that Nowitzki and company could all but pull a revolver out of their shorts and shoot our guys in the legs without getting a call while we couldn't so much a breathe heavily on them. Stern pretty much set it up perfectly for himself last year. The ratings to see if LeBron could do it were through the roof, and he didn't. If the Heat make it this year (and if LeBron can learn to close out games instead of deferring to the likes of a well defended Shane Battier on the perimeter in crunch time), the NBA will make millions off of the swarms of people tuning in to see "LeBron's Redemption".

Celtics win tonight and take a 2-1 lead in the series ... NBA definitely not rigged tonight. :p:p:p

That was the most piss poor sham of officiating I have ever seen. They couldn't have made it more blatantly obvious who they were favoring if they tried.
