Just got swept by the Orioles, looks like they are sleepwalking out there.. no enthusiasm.

173 Million payroll, what a disgrace.. they get rid of Tito and Epsteins leaves, so the clone Cherington takes over and an announcer is the new manager who pisses everyone off..

Shame these guys are even included in the same conversation as the Patriots, Celtics and Bruins.. no heart, no passion for the game.

They suck worse than the jets

They do appear to be fairly average. Spending more isn't the same as spending wisely. The Sox look like a collection of individuals for hire, not a team at this point in the season.

be careful. one of the sox players might read this thread and go on the disabled list because of it.they are playing below average. average is 500. they are playing at a 300 clip since last sept. calling them average is far to kind. gonzo our great first baseman struck out on three pitches to the orioles dh.:eek:

Gonzalez has been the most disappointing for me in 2012. When you give up a farm, you expect consistent and high production.

hes definitely not what they were looking for when they gave up the farm to get him. its the lack of power that's really troubling. where are the hrs? and he doesn't seem to have the mental make up to handle boston.

They didn't talk about it on NESN yesterday but I just assumed Byrd ran through the sign in the 16th, considering he was out by 15 feet. That's not the case though, he was sent. Sent to be cut down like he was a blade of grass.

Wake me when they matter, because I watched maybe 2-3 innings this weekend, and maybe listened to as many in the car as well. They've successfully done what no other Red Sox team has been able to do...make me not care. I am sure I am not the only one out there who feels this way.

...but the sellout streak continues! Go Good, So Good, SO GOOD!

A couple of encouraging things: Big Papi is hitting the crap out of the ball and may even have another 1-2 years left in him after this one.....And of course Middlebrooks is performing like we all knew he could....If he can keep this up in the pros then let Youk go after this season and Will should give us another solid player in our lineup.....

I want to believe THAT Bobby V. can do some justice for the sox. They have the talent just don't have the heart anymore. Almost like they can care less. I don't get it. They used to have the most heart in the game. Now they are an embarrassment. I like to think we don't need Teto or Theo.

If we can get Elsbury back of the DL list for christ sake..... We might win a few games without losing 8 in a row first....lol

I think the talent thing on the Red Sox is an overrated statement. The Red Sox have perceived talent. Our pitching staff is a mess.

Theo must share in some of the blame for this inauspicious start to the 2012 season. These are his guys, for the most part.

I, like you, hope that Bobby V can do something to fix this. It's my opinion that there are group of players that have already tuned him out and could care less. There's another group that just want to get paid, and are about their individual #'s, regardless of wins and losses. Then there's a small minority that still want to win.

I would be willing to bet that if you asked the players, especially now, that they'd say playing in Boston sucks. Too much *****ing and moaning by fans, too much media scrutiny on every at bat. And that I think is where Tito came in. He was somehow able to keep the nay-sayers and the dark cloud off the club house.

Getting back to Bobby V, IMO there were likely better candidates out there to do this job, but ownership felt the need to go with the "sexy" hire and get the name. Something to sell.

From 98.5

“If Youk returns in a week and is ready to go, he plays third base,” Cherington told CSNNE’s Sean McAdam from Kansas City on Tuesday. “He’s been here. It’s great that Will has come up and done a good job and we like him a lot and he’s a big part of our future. But Youk’s on the DL and he didn’t lose his job because he got hurt.”

I don't see why they just don't cut Bobby V loose and name Luchino and Cherington co-managers already. It's clear that Bobby is just a puppet for whatever decisions the front office makes.

Good thing these knuckleheads don't run the Pats. Imagine if Kraft said to BB "Bledsoe starts" back in 2001. Things would be pretty different around here.

Hardy on 98.5 just said that one of his sources spotted Beckett on the golf course last Thursday. Is this the same Beckett that couldn't make his start on Saturday because of injury? This is pathetic if its true.

Trade him.

the dude makes a start, throws 120 pitches, and then misses a start. Meanwhile, he's out golfing. Seems to me like he's showing Bobby V, the front office, and us, that the tail indeed wags the dog.

"leave me out there for 120 pitches? I fix your ass. 'Oh, my back hurts'."

I should probably shut off Felger, because he's not helping me feel good about the situation. I'm gonna let it rip on my site tonight.

Gonna be difficult to trade, as the RS will probably be on the hook for most of his salary...

Wonder how his golf game is, probably better than his pitching game.
