I think Welker is gone. Asante blows the SB in 2007 and is sent on his way. Welker did the same in 2011.....

Great deal! I think you immediately pencil him as the #3 WR behind Lloyd and Welker. I think Branch, Ochocinco, and Stallworth are now fighting for the 4th spot with the two losers ending up gone.

Stallworth is the only true deep threat. Now that could change with TB12 throwing to Lloyd but really I see Lloyd as more of a slot guy.

I think a healthy Stallworth makes this team.

Gonna go with no. Patriots already committed over 9,000,000 to him this season, money that could have been used in many other places on free agents that are no longer on the market, Wes Welker is a patriot in 2012, and hopefully long after.

Edit: Asante didn't blow the Superbowl in 2007 either, the offensive line couldn't keep Brady on his feet and the play calling was horrendous, the Giants won it with a true defensive beatdown of the best offense to ever step foot on a football field.

Agreed, we may see a less talented receiver make the roster as well due to Brady feeling more comfortable with them. It wouldn't be the first time that trust has won out over talent.

My Excitement continues :D , first time we've had 3 legit WRs since 2008.

2009: Moss, Welker, Sam Aiken (WR3 was this team's achilles heal)
2010: Welker, Branch, Tate (Tate sucked, Branch was solid)
2011: Welker, Branch, Ocho (Ocho was terrible, Branch started slowing down towards end of season, if Gaffney was the #2 WR in the AFCCG/SB maybe the games aren't as close, even though the TEs relegated WR#2 to the fourth option, WR#2/3 still hurt us)

Oh-my-holy****ing****!

It's over.

I think people forget how good Gaffney was in 07, and the playoff run in 06. Love that guy. He had 65 catches last year, and he can get deep. I'm sure he'll still got at least another year left of effectiveness. Also, if he agreed to a 2-year deal, sure sounds like he's making the roster to me.

i remember how good he was. hes solid as a rock. he catches anything you throw to him. i remember that big catch he made against the ravens near the end of the game in the end zone. excellent signing. hes got plenty of playoff exp also. love it love it love it.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaa......

Wow........ This signing should almost be illegal. It's almost unfair......... Naaaaaah, F*^K EM'........ Make all pay next year.

"...and this is unbelievable, New England has come onto the field in a 7WR 2TE 1RB set"

Yea, no defense will be able to cover this passing game this year. The only way you can stop it is to get insane pressure on Brady.
