Bucs announce signing of paralyzed former Rutgers player Eric LeGrand | ProFootballTalk

Awesome stuff. Greg Schiano moves to the top of my fav competitive head coach list.

So, like, he gets a contract and everything (or simply a signing bonus)? If so, that's nice.

A very classy move by the Bucs, hopefully he can help to inspire and continue his rehabilitation.

No money, per this article.

That said:

Able to resume his studies via video conference calls, LeGrand expects to graduate next fall with a degree in labor studies. He has since served on Rutgers' radio football broadcasts and is working on a book. IMG has signed him to help LeGrand with his broadcasting career.

Definition of honor and class. Kudos to the Bucs management.

Very Classy.

I'm confused on how it will work though. Will he count against the 90-man roster, isn't there a minimum salary for all players (i guess it does not need to be guaranteed), will he retire a Buc?

Oh damn...i remember when that injury happened...i was hoping he might recover.

Classy move by the Bucs and LeGrand continues to be an inspiration. Awesome move, awesome kid, great story.

Its an honorary signing so I'm guessing that he won't count against the roster.

Guess its like when someone signs a one day contract to retire as a member of that team?

It's stories like this that make me still believe in the human race. Great move by the coach, need more stories like this in the news.

This will be a very big story in the NY area tomorrow, I'll bet.

Can't wait to see if any of the tabloids zap the Jests or Giants, located just a few miles from his campus, for not making a similar gesture, putting aside Coach's connection to Rutgers.

Damn. That story would bring a tear to a glass eye.

Good for you, Tampa Bay.

Assume there is no cash, but he will count against the 90 roster. So what, easy to find one spot in 90. Nice to hear a positive story today.

I look forward to the sign-him thread whenever he is released by the Bucs.

I saw this earlier and was very impressed by the Bucs!

Wow. BB then Schiano.

Kudos to the Bucs, that's really classy move.
