Fredo speaks after the Harbaugh kerfuffle:

After Ravens coach John Harbaugh called the Patriots’ titles tainted today, then said he regretted that comment, Mangini weighed in on ESPN’s NFL Live and said he regrets everything about Spygate. Mangini said that if he had it to do all over again, he never would have informed NFL Security that the Patriots were taping the Jets’ signals during a game on September 10, 2007.

Funny, Gresh was saying today that Mangini was an innocent victim that it was Tannebaum who orchestrated this and that Mangini tried to warn Belichick that Tanny was going to get the league to bust him prior to the game. Mangini seems to disprove that theory.

I may be one of the few who actually like Mangini now that he's out of football, ever since coming to ESPN I've always thought he seemed like he was trying to make things "right" in his mind. He's been a huge supporter of NE and Belichick and I've said numerous times in the past that he sounds like a man who regrets everything.

It's nice to finally hear him say it out loud.

I still don't want his pity, but I don't want to hold a grudge against him for trying to prevent any possible advantage from being used against his team. It's natural, and honestly, who could have realistically predicted that the whole incident would be so overblown to the point where it costs a 1st round pick and $1,000,000 in fines?

He sounds like he misses BB, honestly, I don't see it as him trying to get back into coaching in anyway, just trying to put out the fire on a bridge that is still most likely burning.

Nothing in the history of the national football league is more blown out of proportion than Spygate, anyone who knows anything about football knows this.

Other teams use it as a crutch in their arguement for why the Patriots continue to dominate them year after year.

I've heard/read about Gresh's theory before, but have never heard/read any legitimate evidence to support it. I think Mangina realizes, correctly, that acquiring any future assistant's position has been made very difficult due to the understandable reluctance of any head coach to trust him. One reaps what one sows.
