Please tell me there is an Indy version out there. This has to be the worse possible mojo!

For the record, I believe when Indy did it, it was the Indy site that had them. This doesn't appear to be part of the Patriots organization.

I don't know about the Indy situation, but the website you linked was NFL.Com. Not the Patriots.

This comes up every year. The NFL does some mock ups the week before to market before hand. They certainly are showing the Indy one somewhere as well.

Everyone made a big deal about this last year - even profootballtalk.com had a story on it - but it later turned out to be much ado about nothing.

Much ado about nothing folks.

It was a big deal in January 2005 when the Colts actual website had it up for about 16 hours, before they hurriedly took it down.

Now, that was a horse of a different color!

Right. It was also a big deal because they hadn't even advanced past the divisionals yet.

Wait, so do they still send you the t-shirt if the team doesn't end up being the AFC Champion? How come I don't see a lot of "Denver Broncos 2005 AFC Champions" t-shirts?

No, they usually get donated to poor kids in third world countries or simply destroyed. I think it was Jim Kelly who one time jokingly said that he didn't realize there were so many Bills fans in Africa.
