Are the BROWNS Cursed LOL

I remember our Sox all those years until they finally won the WS.

As a Pats fan I root for them to beat the Steelers/Ravens one of these years.
I don't know if I will see that in my lifetime again.

There draft was a "F" IMO. Great move to trade up 1 spot to get a RB...yeah right!
They could have had the best WR doing nothing and than with their other 1st rounder grabbed either RB Doug Martin or David Wilson. Now you upgrated 2 offensive positions.
Of course the one year there a Elwayish QB coming out Manning gets hurt and they lose out.
You gotta feel for their fans.

The Bengals seemed to have a good draft. Maybe they can take the divison.
Poor Browns and I have never been there or know anyone from there either.

I think Minnesota is also cursed.
The lost the Lakers,a hockey team and maybe the Viks if they don't get a new statium.

As I get older I am thankful all our teams have won in my lifetime. Nothing worst than a bitter old man sitting around wishing he had seen his favorite team win just once

The Patriots have kind of been cursed as of late. As in, doing so well until the final minute and then ripping your heart out in a gut wrenching fashion. Cursed against the Giants.

The problem is the ownership. It is always the ownership. The owners have no patience. No patience.Tthey go one way for a year or two, and then, and then, they go another way. They draft players and then cut or trade them a few years later. There is no continuity.

"Cursed" usually means someone (or in this sense, a team) actually did something to trigger bad luck. You don't get cursed by ghosts by chance, you usually screwed up somewhere along the way and have to make up for it. In horror movies, it was because of an unfortunate death - in sports, it's a missed crucial opportunity. You screwed up, the ghosts are coming back to punish you in the afterlife for that mistake. The Cubs had the goat, we had Babe. The Browns aren't cursed, they just suck.

You could make an argument that Brady cursed the Pats when he joked they would only score 17 in SB 42...sure sounds like a kiss of death.

If the D stops Eli then Brady would be praised for another drive. Some things are just out of his control. And i agree...those losses had bad luck but i'm not one to believe in nonsense like curses. Things just happen.

And the Browns suck because they are in a division with two teams that are run excellently and they are not.

The comments being responded to are a major issue with "newer" fans, they did not have the opportunity to enjoy the early 90's and the other lean times and lack perspective on how great a run this actually is. There are 31 other teams that are envious of our success... talk to anyone around the country, and after they spew the obligatory hate, they will ask how do you guys stay so good???

When I started watching football was a cleveland browns fan, Jim Brown was and is the man.. became a Pats fan in the late 60's... it is too bad that that storied franchise is on such a bad run... but there is always an ebb and flow.

I think NE thought it was cursed in some way before your 1st SB. That was a damn long time to be a fan.
But to tell you the truth, after meeting viking fans, and have them whine, cry, and never stop from every loss they have ever had, I almost think their fans deserve it. I mean get some balls, and stop blaming falcons,dallas,saints,etc..

Holgrem and Heckert are there now and supposed to be team builders. They drafted McCoy and Hardesty a couple of years ago and are now back drafting a QB and RB again. McCoy sucks and they were all in the RG3 sweepstakes.

Andy Johnson would question if the Browns have really been that bad at drafting QBs and RBs.

Yeah, but Luck is part of the game...and any sport really.

Sure, the magic helmet catch was lucky but so was getting the tuck call (not arguing whether the call was right or wrong...I think it was right...just that getting the reversal and the call was lucky). And, in each case, the teams in question still had to execute after the lucky event.

Personally, I don't ascribe this year's SB loss to "bad luck." The Giants executed (Manningham's catch, Pass Rush harassing Brady on his first play) and the Patriots didn't execute (Safety on first play from scrimmage, Hernandez' drop, Welker's miss of a tough catch and three fumbles not recovered). End of story.

How about John Kasey, in a tied game, booting the kick-off out of bounds leaving Brady and the Pats a chance to operate from their own 40 yard line needing only a FG to win the SB against Carolina (which, of course, they got)?

Yeah, but who could beat the the legend that is Montana. Bad timing,lol, and we were in that division at the time. 12 wins and we could not win. 49ers were unbeatable.
Mora built the colts and drafted PM. He's a great coach. LOL, thanks the more that know even though we wore bags, we were still AT the game, and the stands were full. Maybe it helps people understand us better.

I'm not pinning it ON Brady... I'm just saying he's associated with it. 18-1... the Tyree catch... it's part of NFL lore now, whether we like it or not. I have never blamed Brady for that game, and never will. But it's also infamous and will be part of his legacy. Just the facts.

In a more general sense, the Pats are now known for what they didn't win as much as for what they did. Hopefully when history moves on and the dust settles that will change, but for now "it is what it is."
