...to save their legs. Says it's worked out well that way in the last couple of years.

By the way, it's dom-uh-nik, not dom-uh-neek, like the idiot announcers persist in calling him.

Sure. The success they have had in the playoffs the last couple of years? Brilliant.:singing:

No matter who the team is, I would think that the exucution of the gameplan is the single most important thing at this level. This is not a pickup game. How can you execute the gameplan if you don't know how to pull it off? Maybe that is Dungy's weak spot. He uses the same gameplan on every team and lets the win come by his players hopefully making the plays. It sounds like Russian roulette.

The other option is that he will use the last two plans he used against the Pats. Bad move, who watches more film than NE?

Oh one more stupid thing about this. NEVER GIVE BB FUEL TO STOKE THE FIRE. This translates into, "they dont respect us" or "they are looking past us." That card will burn you when you give it to BB in the playoffs.

Please. Not even Rodney thinks the Colts are looking past the Patriots. These are not the Chargers. They may not have the firepower of the Chargers, but whatever ammunition they have will be close at hand.

Anyone remember the Miracle on Ice game in the 1980 Olympics? Well, I don't (I was too young and living in Russia at the time, where they didn't report on the game after the USSR loss), but I remember the moral well. The Russian team was far superior to the US team, and Russia's coach let his team study plays instead of having practice. The US, in the meantime, worked their butts off in practice (presumabely to "Eye of the Tiger"), and beat the USSR 4-3.

What do you mean "please"? This is one method BB uses to motivate his team. Where have you been for the last 5 years?

That was a great moment, but IMO there is no way Dungy told his team study up. Some may have, but that is not Dungy's style.

C'mon. You and I both know that had Rhodes said, "Tony gave us a water break at practice today" NE would find some way to spin that as motivation.

No kidding, but I get a "please."

3 days off?
what 3 days?

do u have a link?

that is hilarious... that Dungry actually did that and that one of his players was actually stupid enough to say that.

I hope Bruschi steals the ball from that sissy again on a run

Considering that they played TWO emotional playoff games-it's probably a good idea.

It's not that big of a deal, they played saturday so they already had an extra day compared to us. Don't the pats watch film on Monday, Tuesday off and practice start Wednesday? So the pats have an extra day of film studying on the colts. I dont think this will be the cause of the colts winning nor losing. Whichever team comes up with the better gameplan AND has better execution (most important) will win on sunday

I have no opinion on the 3 days rest thing. If they think it's better, good for them. As far as Rhodes name goes, it does end with "neek". It doesn't look like it should, but I figure that Dom, his teammates and coaches would know how to say his name.

Geeesh! Haven't you seen the Motorola commercial?

Dungy is busy trying to coach up that helmeted kid in the car with his girlfriend!

"You're killin' us!"

>>>>The Ravens were coming off a bye week: no game, a couple of extra days off, a chance to rest the legs and renew the psyche. The Colts were playing their 18th game in 19 weeks.
Football is a brutal enterprise and the NFL has a brutally long season.
"I don't care who you are, your body's going to break down," said Colts cornerback
Nick Harper <http://fantasyfootball.usatoday.com/content/player.asp?sport=NFL&id=1643>. "It doesn't matter how young or old you are, your body is going to break down.
"The more recoup time you get, the better off you'll be."
-----------------------------------
Let me see if I understand this logic. You break down over time so you need the rest to be fresh and have more success. Yup, it worked real well for the two rested teams last weekend, Chargers and Ravens.........

Seriously, don't forget in all this, they played Saturday so they have one extra day to prep than the Patriots this week.

When you figure it out, they will start practice around the same time as the Pats........with an extra day of rest, one fewer airflight and thousands of fewer miles traveled. Damn the NFL schedulers. (of course all those advantages didn't help the Chargers :) )

One thing that can be considered is that Baltimore is a very physical team. The Colts took a good pounding against a rough D. They may have needed some bengay.
