Why the heck do opposing teams stop attacking our weaknesses midgame?

2001 Rams. We were being killed on the ground, touch after touch - and so the Rams go all-airborne, crash, thud, helllooo Mr. Lombardi.

2006 Chargers. What happened there? Why did LdT only get 9 touches in the 2nd half? Why did he get zero receptions? He was killing us, right from the start...sure, we stopped him in the middle a few times - the heart of our run D - but did we ever stop him on a run to the outside for less than 5 yards?

Especially playing with the lead, what the heck? Is this a brilliant Bellicheck strategy that a mere mortal fan can't understand? Are opposing coaches outthinking themselves? Are we showing so many men in the box that opposing coaches think that they can kill us in the air?

I'm honestly stymied.

Shhhhhh, don't tell them. Now the Colts will try and use that against us.

colts do it regularly..they pass...and pass...and pass..even if they are up 30

One hour Martinizing?

Its the simple beauty of our team. BB adjusts at the half, the players go out and execute the change. The other coach either is too stubborn or stupid to change when we do or doesn't have the players to execute such a change. Hence they stay with what brung em. Check out the yds per attempt on 1st vs 2nd half.

Yeah, but LdT seemed just as effective after the half - they just stopped running him. Sure, they couldn't use him on the last 1min drive, but they sure could before that - especially when they had the lead.

I'm not even harshing on Marty - I'm just honestly confused why a number of opponents seem to have let the foot off the gas at odd times. I'd love to credit the BBBrain(tm), but I'd like to know which brainchild of his to credit it to.

Image is nothing obey your coach!;) First half LDT had 10yds/touch. Second half 4.9 yds/touch. And with Gates limited to @60yds on the day w/no TD's BB had Marty right where he wanted him. Trying to have Rivers beat us with his WR's!:D

SnotenHeimer's biggest mistake yesterday IMO was too let Cam Cameron have total say over the game calls. Sure, SnortenHeimer has a lousy playoff record, but surely he's learned something along the way.

I'm sure Dean Pees and McDaniels call mosty of our games ... but I'm sure Belichick gets his say in there when needed to change the flow of the game.

SnotenHeimer will never taste the SuperBowl...like an alchoholic
perhaps he cannot rationalize good and makes sure it goes bad.
