The best way to counter this is for a Patriot to say, "So many people are anti-Patriot these days. So many players, ex-players doing the TV gig. They're jealous of the Patriots success, and they're jumping on any little story like a pack of hyenas. How else can you explain Tom Brady being left off the Pro Bowl?"

The media has to villify someone. Expect this to continue. We all know Peyton Manning is their golden boy that they have been priming for so long, but has to deliver on the goods. Will this be his year? Well, we will find out one way or the other soon. If he loses again, what are they going to say then?

Absolutely. Sure beats the days when no one talked about us! That's what success will do. If anyone is really worried about being villified or disrespected, don't worry. After the Brady and Belichick era comes to a close sometime in the next decade (I hope), people will look back and admire. That's just the way it is. Villify now, awe later. I hope the media continues to write stories like this. In the end, that'll make the history of the pats that much more amazing. The best part is, we are living through it! Please people, let's appreciate that.

I have thought several times that Hobbs was getting close to penalized for taunting in several games this year. If this episode teaches him anything, it should teach him to knock off the nonsense.

"Meant no disrespect"? How can you head to the center of an opponent's field after a victory and mimic their star's trademark victory dance and "mean no disrespect"? Disrespect was the whole point! They were saying "right back atcha, big boy" to a player who has lavished disrespect on their team and the whole league. Was it beyond the pale? Nah, it didn't bother me. The Chargers--and Merriman in particular--acted mighty c-ocky heading into the game and I can't blame the players for exulting in a tough victory. But love it or hate it, disrespect was the coin of the realm.

Just one thing confuses me. Don't the players meet in the middle of the field to shake hands etc at the end of the game? Do they normally avoid the center emblem of the home team?

Don't know but this whole thing is crazy. Seems because LT is "Classy" he must be right. Classy people MUST be given the benefit of doubt.

The big issue here seems to be that the Pats ran all the way to the middle of the field and started celebrating on the Bolt. Sorry, this is NOT a T.O. in Dallas situation where he scored a TD and ran from the end zone to mid field during the game to mock the Cowboys. The Pats had just won the game when the kicker missed a tying field goal from almost mid field. Hard not to celebrate at mid filed when the play took place 6 yards from there.

I'm praying that the media keeps up the full court press in making the Patriots look like the bad guys. Please keep up the disrespect right up to kick off on Sunday.
