Football Outsiders' 2012 Sackseer - Nick Perry tops the list

Two of my choices have been Frank Alexander and Ronnell Lewis. They're described by Sackseer as two of the best later round value options.

From the one game that I saw Frank Alexander in (admittedly not a big sample) against RG3 and Baylor, he looked like he belonged in the NFL. I think some team will jump on him earlier than expected (4th-5th round).

Also, this does a good job of illustrating the issues of this pass rusher class. There is no perfect candidate, and most of the 'top' prospects have issues that would cause me to shy away. I'd love Nick Perry if we could get him, but I think a DT/CB would be a better pick with the first we don't trade out of.

I do agree that all of Perry, Mercilus and McClellin will be better edge rushers than Ingram or Upshaw, who looks to slow off the ball.

Perry is my fave of the bunch. I think he could be a very very good 3 down player for us. I really hope we finally go olb early and take him if he's there at 27.

A guy who can take on Double Teams down in the Trenches and race down field to cover speedy Wide Receivers?? Sign me UP, Bro!! I'll take 11!! :D :rocker:
