Bears to draft Brockers at 19 if he's there

Depends what the rest of the board looks like for me. I've said if he fell into the early 20s and Bill likes him enough then I would support a move up. I wouldn't hate a move up into the late teens for a player of his caliber IF he checks out.

He's raw but I have so much hope for that guy. He could be unbelievable. I prefer Brockers over Poe that's for sure.

I'd do it, but if I were in charge, we'd already have traded up for Watt last year :p

I don't wanna trade up for a guy thats only played one full season and is effectively a project, that may or may not work out. If he's around when we pick then I have no problem with taking him

This. In today's NFL, Brocker's current skillset is that of a one down player.

What do you all think of trying to trade up to get brockers? Is he worth it?

Yes, yes and yes. He is worth it. Understand that as of today, he is not a finished product, but by year 3 he will be a beast.

He will need a red shirt year to learn technique and get MUCH stronger. But basically you have a long, wide and strong kid that will command a double team as a pass rusher and can eat up blockers in run defense. He will give slowpoke Spikes and Mayo a lot of extra room to roam.

I say BB needs to call his buddy Reid in Philly and trade #27 and #48 for Philly's first.

Maybe, maybe not..... But,1 thing is certain... I don't want to wait until year 3 of a 4 year rookie contract to get production out of a highly drafted player...especially a guy I had to trade into the teens to get.

*chuckle* it's amazing how people forget the misinformation that gets out there at this time of year..

You ARE nuts OJ. You are going to use 2 picks high picks for a player who isn't going to help you for TWO years!......if at all. Maybe we should just ask the league to be put on hold while we wait for Mr. Brockers to develop

Right now as one previous post put it, Brockers is a one down DLman. You don't expend draft capital on a player who isn't ready to play right now. If he falls to you, then it MIGHT be worth to take a big risk, and even then its a stretch. To spend a 2 high picks for the same risk is idiotic.

It's true, this could all be a ruse, but its not inconceivable for the bears to focus on defense since they spent most of thr offseason on upgrading the O.

No thank you. I think with as much 4-3 as the Patriots have been playing, Brockers loses some value there. Don't get me wrong, he is more than capable of playing there, but he does need to develop more and is by no means a sure fire hit. I would stay put or do a small trade down and get Kendall Reyes who is also a great fit for the 3-4 or 4-3.
