Another BS idea by the skunk Goodell. He has proven, over and over, that he couldnt care less about NFL fans and how they are the backbone of the NFL, without whom there would be no NFL.

Goodell is the worst commissioner in the history of the NFL. Sure, maybe he has brought in a lot of money, but coming from his family background as the son of a former United States Senator is all one needs to know as to where his priorities are, and they are not with the fans of the NFL.

Worst decision the owners ever made, letting that man be commissioner.

I hate the way they talk about NFL expansion to Europe being an inevitability. And within 10 years no less. I'd think Los Angeles and Canada would make more sense.

Air travel speeds will have to improve to make this reasonably doable. We've been stagnant since the 1960s. Sucks for an idiot like me that goes to Europe and Asia 8-10 times per year total.

There used to be a fantastic plane that could travel the Atlantic in no time at all...concorde! So it wouldn't be impossible for Boeing or Air Bus to make another plane like that.

I hear you. I used to be a trans continental air warrior. My son in law flies to Malaysia frequently. Richard Branson needs an offshoot of his SpaceShip 2 that does suborbital hops.

Folks are starting to notice that computers, electronics and bio-tech medicine are the only areas where we're radically advanced from the 60s. We don't build stuff anymore. Just look at construction in those Asian cities you visit. In the US the permitting process takes longer than to build and costs a fortune.

Why would I be a Jets fan? That is far more ridiculous than anything else ever posted here.

And my comments were related to Goodell, not the Krafts. Just because THEY may want to expand into Europe doesnt make it a fan friendly idea.... My guess is that the vast majority of NFL fans would say NO, if asked. But, Goodell would never take the time to do the right thing, and ask.

IMO, there are still several other cities in the US that could support an NFL franchise. Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Portland, OR, Salt Lake City, UT, Boise, ID, .Why go overseas and deprive American football fans who love the NFL from seeing their favorite teams or players? Ludicrous, IMO.

He wanted Virgin Atlantic use them for "years to come".

Costs in China are increasing as they're dropping here. Maybe Detroit will be the new China.

I will say, though, that I trust buildings here to remain perpendicular to the ground than in many countries in Asia.

Exactly. As much as it has gained in popularity over across the pond, especially in the UK (Great Pats Fan Club there, and I have met several of them at one time or another) American football will never have a shot against those sports that you mentioned.

In fact, if they did put an NFL team in a couple of the major cities in Europe the bulk of the fans in the buildings would probably be American servicemen stationed nearby and their families.

IMO, if they did expand there, my guess is it would be a failure with teams giving away tickets just to get people into the seats.

Look, I'm not going to sit here and say that Goodell is doing an outstanding job, but what he is trying to do is understandable. Adding a team or two to Europe would bring in more revenue and at the end of the day any business is trying to do one thing and one thing only, increase cash flow. I believe it's only a matter of time before the NFL is in Europe, we're already playing games there and I'm pretty sure they've all been sold out or damn close to it.
