Ouch! I think he has hit on the truth of this whole matter.

The Chargers fans and team, and the media in general, was unprepared for the Pats to win, and their reaction en masse is to divert the topic and deflect blame.

As Rome mentions, if Merriman doesn't want to see other people do his dance, then he needs to stop doing his dance and nobody will have anything to copy.

Secondly, if you don't want them dancing on your logo, you need to defend your field.

Third, the Chargers dropped the passes and made the mistakes to lose.

I feel that this whole staged 'outrage' in the media and amoung the players is just a classless reflection on the Chargers. They don't even have a mechanism to deal with the fact that they lost, showing that they never really took the Pats seriously. That's what happens when you celebrate your victory before the game starts.

Grow up, Chargers! The outrage is that you lost the damn game!

Dear Chargers,

Make you a deal: Hold serve and we won't dance on your field. Losers.

Best,
THE WORLD

dan patrick said the same thing...defend the turf and no one will dance. and if its okay for merriman to do the dance then it should be fine for the pats to do the dance

I e-mailed Rome the youtube like with merrimen talking smack

True, true true.

But, I'll put out the challenge again: Which of the other three winning teams this weekend acted like the Patriots did when they won?

Chargers have to live with themselves and own up to their loss. Patriot players ought to admit they were relieved to the point of having gone a tad bit overboard.

Rome is spot on.

...speaking of classy...

Not all fans are. Too bad pats fans can't register on charger sites to respond.. even more classy.

But.. none of it really matters, does it? I am almost to the "who cares" point

Hey Bolt-boy

I guess you weren't at Foxboro last year when SD acted like a bunch of clowns when they won here. Does this quote bring back any memories?

which of the teams that lost had pep rallys with a roid rager encouraging "brady sucks" chants???? which of the winning teams this weekend pulled off a huge upset against the "unstoppable" pro bowl landen team???
please and thank you

The New York Giants are known for having their "ballin" imitiation jump shot celebration after a big play. I have seen time and time again this year where the opposing team will imitate that upon scoring.

Why no outrage over this?

T.O. did imitate Ray Lewis after scoring a TD against the Ravens a few years ago. The media try to blow it out of proportion but I believe the Ravens rightfully downplayed going with the attitude that, if we don't let him score then he doesn't dance.

Is there any video of some Pats doing the 'Roid Rage Shuffle? I'd actually like to see it.

It's hard to believe that this thing continues to boil. It really has taken on a life of its own.

One or two players talkin sh*t isn't "a bunch of clowns". Drayton Florence ran his mouth and shouldn't have. Yesterday he gave you a first down by acting like a punk. Between the bulletin board material and a free first down in the 4th quarter, he ought to be your favorite Charger right about now.

I remember well. The difference is that I only want to call out the players or coach at fault rather than put it on an entire team.

which of the other losing teams, upon previously defeating the winner declared "that's an (but)-whooping," and "(screw) 'insert-team-here' and their fans?"

did any of the other teams have a player go on the halftime show of the other team's last game and declare that he thought they'd lose? it should also be noted that the classless behavior people are in arms about was a direct mocking of this player, who regularly (classlessly) dances above his opponents. oh, and this player also mocked Jason Taylor, a veteran in the same division as the Patriots whom they have the utmost respect for.

There will be no dancing at the 50 in Indy if NE wins. Indy players don't yap at other teams the way the Chargers do, they just yap at each other (I'm looking at you Peyton).

I STARTED at the 'who cares' point. That is the point of this thread. The little dance is an incredibly trivial and irrelevant and minor little occurence that has no impact on next week's game, or life.

But the Chargers fans, organization, and general media are throwing up a red herring to deflect the real issue here: Chargers lost.

Has anyone else noticed this? Even the respectful Chargers fans that come on the board completely ignore their own team's part in the "classless acts". Every time someone mentions their last year's comments or about the "punch
Brady in the face" comments, they completely ignore it. How about LT calling out BB when he did not do anything? Their excuse is LT was emotional so he gets a free pass. The Pats had to each **** sandwiches all week and according to Rosie, all game but they're not allowed a release. Stay classy SD.

I hear you.. I think that is what pisses me off the most.. The chargers feel they are perfect saints and we are the classless devils who stole their trophy.

Look guys, we won the game, so it's OK to be critical if the Pats deserve it.

I'm a little embarrassed by what happened, although I'd like to actually see a clip of it. It's not consistent with the professionalism the Pats normally exhibit. I wish it hadn't happened. Then the focus would be more on the amazing 4th qtr, not the sideshow after.

Naaah, HE'S not our favorite Charger - - - Reche Caldwell's our favorite Charger. He's the one that drove the stake through your postseason heart!!!
You know , the guy you discarded.:D :D

What he said, but minus the afterbirth.
