"I don't see the effort. I don't see the motivation. I don't see a good motor.

I see a slow, sloppy, long armed tall guy that was surrounded by good players. He's uncoordinated, reportedly immature, and he isn't strong at all.

In his chance to shine at the Combine, he posted a terrible 40 yard dash and a terrible bench press.

The defensive version of JaMarcus Russell."

taken from another forum. Do you think Brockers is a BOOM or BUST?

Personally I think he will take a couple years to develop and is a good prospect. Probably shouldn't be a top 20 pick though. I don't see him making an impact for a couple years.

If you're going to try to make a point then try get the facts right.

Incase you don't know what I'm talking about, he didn't bench at the combine.

Re: Brockers will BUST

........

Multiple national NFL-related websites, including NFL.com, reported that Michael Brockers put up 19 reps on the bench press at this past week's NFL combine, which is an extremely low number for someone of Brockers' size and skill set.

However, this week, Brockers agency apparently came out and said that is 100 percent false and that the former LSU defensive tackle did not participate in the bench press portion of the combine testing.

Of course, I sure couldn’t put up 19 reps at 225 pounds. Heck, I couldn’t even put up one rep at that weight. But to put it into perspective, Omar Boldin, who is a 200-pound cornerback from Arizona State, put up 24 reps on the bench press, which would be five more then Brockers reportedly did.

Whether Brockers did or did not participate in the bench press, this just goes to show how the NFL combine should not be taken so seriously.

Seems fishy. Why wouldn't he bench press?

Is the person who said this in a position where I should value their opinion? I'm guessing no.

As for the bench, remember that Seymour only put up 18 reps, and his arms aren't nearly as long as Brockers'.

He definitely is a Boom or Bust prospect. If he is as good as advertised, he should have remained in college, destroy the opposition and come back next year as a sure top 10 pick.

I think it depends what you expect from him. If you expect Seymour than you will probably consider him a bust. If you're expecting a little less than Ty Warren you're probably going to get exactly what you expect.

You can only sign a 1st round pick for 4 years now. It will take him one or two years to learn his craft. If he ever does. Not worth the risk. 3rd year soph's who aren't elite athletes should scare the hell out of you. Wouldn't take him. I think the way the draft board is shaping up. OLB and DB are our two best bets in Round 1. Hope like hell Mark Barron falls. If not, maybe something like Stephon Gilmore and one of; Mercilus, Perry, Branch or Curry. At 48? Doubt if K. Reyes or D. Still slide there. Maybe OL there if Light or Waters retire. Billy Winn at 62??

According to the official combine numbers he was listed as having a "Right Shoulder" issue.

Brockers is a rushing down player only. In today's NFL, he could be a one down player (LSU took him out in their sub packages). Add in limited tape and his inexperience and I'm fairly staggered people a) want to trade up for him and B) expect BB too. He's got the right length so I suppose anything is possible but is the value there when you can wait on Still or Reyes.

I was watching the Georgia game and that's a very good offensive line. At the start of the game he didn't get much push but as time went on his physicality started to wear them down. I really saw what Lombardi meant about him needing to be retrained to develop better hand skills. He was doing it all with his strength which is considerable. One of the things I really liked was he always had his head up while rushing. He came off of his blocks to catch the QB when he scrambled several time and caused a fumble on one. He also came off and stopped two screens for no gain and knocked down a couple of passes showing great awareness.

I still see him as having a great upside and would trade up into the high teens for him.

Brockers will be a great rotational player his rookie year and a starter from then on out. He will absolutely not be a bust. And seriously, we're using opinions from forums as a basis these days? lol...

If you are going to post a quote, please post the source of you quote. I'll have to delete your thread if you don't credit the source.

Pro Football Weekly has several players noted as boom or bust prospects Bronkers and Stills are 2 of them.

Brockers should have stayed in school.
