Smile, there is universal disdain for the Patriots and their fans, we are that good. Logic is irrelevant. It doesn't matter that the Patriots are a bunch of intelligent, hard-working, selfless, pro-community non-criminals. It doesn't matter that we don't talk smack before games or have self-promoting celebration dances during them. All that matters is that we are so friggin' good and the rest of the world is sick of it (including much of the Boston media). Yes, ipecac sales will be through the roof as fans attempt to quell their inevitable nausea from actually cheering for Peyton Manning this weekend.

So, expect nothing but disdain. They will use every excuse to hate us and arguing is irrelevant. Does it matter that the Chargers are by any account far more "classless" than the Patriots (particularly after last year's win at the Razor)--no! Does it matter that this team didn't have a criminal incident or suspension this year--no! Does it matter that BB and this organization does as much for the community as any team in football--no! Does it matter that Brady only does commercials that highlight his teammates--no!! Does it matter that BB heaps a neverending stream of praise upon his opponents and fellow coaches--no!!

Enjoy it folks, don't bother fighting it, revel in it, and be smug.:rocker:

If the Pats and NO face off in the Super Bowl you can bet the Pats will be portrayed as villians.

Its funny... Im talking to a buddy of mine who is an iggles fan that just told me that... and add that he wishes his team were as prepared to play as ours...

I told him... I know, I know... ;)

Nice post. Ipecac use...priceless. :D

As I have said before, I don't remember any of this "hate" or jealousy when Joe Montana was doing his thing. Why are people "sick" of the Pats? They never expressed this with the 49ers or Steelers. We were the laughingstock of the league for so long. An afterthought. Always had the crappy annoucer teams on TV. Is it the media coverage that is 24/7 on multiple outlets? TV, radio, internet? Is it an anti-Boston bias that people from the south and midwest may harbor? For crying out loud its only been 5 years of success.

The reason for my earlier thread. I think the Northeast thing plays a big role in it. I think the inability of the casual fan to understand beyond star power is a factor.

All I know is that I'd enjoy this a little more if 99% of the country weren't going to be rooting for the Colts this wkd.

Apparently, this is what it feels like to be a Yankees' fan. If the Pats play NO in the Bowl, expect it to get a lot worse.

Sweeeeet.

Well said Isaac. I posted something similar in the "why LT and Phillips" thread. We should have figured this out a while ago but the rest of the world hates us because they are sick of us. Just like everyone outside of the NY area hates the Yankees.

Let the whole world be damned. Let em ***** and moan all offseason. Its on to bigger and better things for the Pats, possibly to a record 4th title in 6 years. I love it.

For years, I couldnt stand the 49ers, or the Cowboys, and of course, most of us hate the Yankees...WHY? Because they always win, and our team did not.

It's normal.

Yeah ok - everyone loves an underdog, whatever.

So why for any Colts (alleged powehouse) vs. Pats (scrappers) game does the public at large root for the Colts?

Why is the c-cky Peyton Manning more popular than the humble Tom Brady?

Why was the public at large disappointed that we ruined the Rams dynasty in '01? Am I the only one that remembers the flood of "game was fixed" reactions that came out?

Interesting question, but I know that I hated the 49ers for no good reason. I actually rooted for the Cowboys against them one year, which is remarkable as a life-long Cowboy hater. I remember I was so pissed how Deion arm-barred Irvin on a deep throw but didn't get called. There's something about hating a winner. It seems that everything else might just be justification (Boston, no stars, etc.).
