In other words, no change since before free agency started. It just means BB has more flexibility to go BPA and not reach.

Patriots signed CB Marquice Cole, formerly of the Jets. His first name is pronounced mar-KWEECE, Cole is a special teams gunner. According to the New York Daily News, the 28-year-old had also earned a reputation as the biggest prankster on the Jets roster.

Well.... I'd say that they've taken TE off the list at the OL situation may be fixed for now but, other than that, I'm with you.
Between Slater, White, and Cole we may have the best ST tackling unit in the NFL
If this signing means the end for undertalented, try-hard stiffs Mal Williams, Sergio Brown & Ross Ventrone,
then I like it.
Two things I noticed scanning Jet's boards about this guy.
1. They are pissed that the Jets let him go, and especially to their main rival.
2. The say he is the most entertaining Tweeter of any Jet's player, or was, I should say.
I also read that he may be the best "gunner" in the league. While I don't know if that is true, you have to admit that BB takes Special Teams very seriously, if his week one FA signings are any indication.
I don't think Cole is going to be camp fodder. Check out this article on his special team's skills:

Anyone with great special teams skills threatens sergio brown's spot.
