camp fodder

Our #5 cb for now.

Unfortunately only camp fodder, but god it would be SWEET if he could somehow turn into a slightly above average corner since he's a former jet

I like taking players from the Jets, good or bad.

Very good special teams player.

Before you chuck him up to "camp fodder", go take a look at the gang green forum about him. Almost everyone on there said they're pissed he's gone. He's no game changer but he's a damn hard worker, never hurts to have a guy like that.

sonds like Antwaun Molden 2.0 to me but you never know the pats always find that Diamond in the rough

When the Jet fanbase doesn't like the loss...it's a good sign. Looks like he's a ST gunner and hard worker. Good CB depth signing and will push for a slot on the final 53.

Being better than the other teams from 1-53 is the goal of assembling the roster......

This is gonna be an extraordinary TC !!!!!!!!! :rocker:

The more bodies we have competing for spots on defense the better IMO.

Low risk high reward.

According to his Pro Day results, currently the fastest member of the New England Patriots.

Based on comments at JI, Cole was a gunner on the punt coverage unit and a dime defensive back. Sergio Brown may be out of job when the roster is cut down to 53. The New England Patriots defense may now have five viable cornerbacks on the roster:

McCourty
Dowling
Arrington
Moore
Cole

If that's the case, does anyone see BB drafting a CB in round one or two?

What are the positions of need now?

Drafting BPA looks like a plan and please BB....DON'T TRADE DOWN !!!

A trade UP would be a great plan to grab 2 solid picks in round one....:rocker:

Now, this is really good news. Cole is a replacement for Sergio Brown. There is still room for an addition corner. 5 corners and 5 safeties is not unusual for us. The 5th "safety" is often a special teamer who we don't want to see of defense. We can carry 6 corners and 4 safeties, with Cole as the special teamer.

Marquice Cole - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

2010

Cole is an "integral" part of the Jets' special teams unit, as a gunner, and has improved his understanding of the defensive schemes to the point where he is involved in series of packages on defense. Cole started the Jets' final regular season game against the Buffalo Bills recording his first two interceptions, one of which he returned for his first career touchdown.

You're right. After reading Ganggreen, he seems to be a top ST gunner, and atleast he wouldn't be a nightmare to put on the field like Brown.

Cole can replace Brown/Williams, cya Sergio!
