What is you guys opinion on this? Obviously the pats see that he still has the physical skills to be a solid wr or they would've released him...maybe 5months to work with brady and jmcd will turn him around. I don't see it though

If/when Lloyd signs, Ocho will be bench warming all season so unfortunately I can't see him doing much again next season.

The only shot Ocho has of seeing the field at all is if Branch and Lloyd both get injured during TC and get put on IR or PUP........

I think it is more a question of will the Patriots adapt their offense to include 85 than will 85 adapt to the offense.
Even aside from his difficulty in reading a defense to choose the correct route, when he runs a lot of the routes we want run here, he looks awkward and even gawky.
He got by and did very well for years running the routes that suited him, because the passing game revolved around him. Perhaps we adapt the offense to include that, perhaps not.
The fact that he hasn't been cut yet, really means nothing.

I dont buy the "No offseason is the reason OCHO stinks" excuse.

Please, he is a veteran. He had ALL season to improve. 0. They did not even trust him in the SB.

Gimme a break.

I really dont see OCHO on he roster, and if he is, BillB is dellusional. Do you think if any 1 of our starting WRs cannot play, OCHO can go right in and replace him?

Here's how I see it:

Ochocinco or Tiquan Underwood? In that scenario, I'll take Ocho everytime.

I would rather sign branch or gaffney on the cheap...the alternative doesn't have to be underwood

Welker/lloyd/branch/gaffney(drafted wr) would be an upgraded core from last year

His next game will be his breakout game. You don't know this?

Wouldn't be surprised if he was cut prior to the season starting.

Exactly. After the restructure, there's no benefit to cutting him before training camp. He may get cut early if it's clear he hasn't made any progress, but until then the rest of the WR pieces have to come into play before he becomes expendable.

I dont think there has been a restructure, just the rumor of one.
Until we need the cap space, cutting him is unnecessary, so if we strike out of WRs we may decide to keep him. When we need cap space, he may be cut, esp if we make progress at WR.
As it is, if we had a game tomorrow, he would be a starter. That won't be the case for long.

There will probably be a number of undrafted rookies who could be a better choice than either.

It is NOT a 2 WR only choice.

If Gaffney is available (and he may be), he is way better than both, combined...
