Trade both first rounders for Trent Richardson, he steps in immediately and rushes for 1200+ yards and adds a real toughness to the team.

Trent Richardson

"Impression: The best running back prospect I've seen since Adrian Peterson. His running style might limit his shell life a bit in the NFL. However, he's the kind of back you can ride like a rented mule from day one and should become one of the NFL's top runners early on. "

Take two aspirin and lay down. How did that Mark Ingram trade work out for the Saints? Underwhelming rookie year. Injured. Now, they don't have another first.

Too late...
Hey how about this guy instead: Happy Feet
Gifted runner eh? Explosive and fast. A little too many stutter steps in the hole but he is lightening fast and elusive. And free: no more picks needed. He just needs a few holes....

I don't think we could get high enough to get Richardson.

Richardson is way better than Ingram. If we could do it with "just" the two #1s and still have the two #2s for defense I would absolutely do it. We all loved having Corey Dillon, this would be like getting that in a 22 year old body.

cuz the key to success in the NFL is to have a stud Running Back. They don't get hurt, they have long careers and it's a running league.;)

Why would we draft Richardson if he already have Shane Vereen. Vereen is going to be good this season.

What would be the point? He won't get the ball as long as Tom is at QB and we do running back by committee. Waste of a pick.

Best O Back Prospect since Adrian Peterson, my @$$.

Very crazy random thought, that one.

If you want to go that high in the draft, we should talk Blackmon or Claiborne... but it just doesn't make sense in terms of what we'd have to give up. Blackmon in exchange for something like Devon Still, Andre Branch and Mohamed Sanu?

Who then? Or was does  mean sarcasm?

Trent Richardson is the deal. I don't think there's an offensive player in the draft, with the possible exceptions of Kendall Wright and Stephen Hill (potential upside) that would help the Patriots more on offense.

I don't think we could get high enough...

I know it's not what you meant by this partial quote, but I'd say someone is plenty "high enough" to suggest this idea!

Seriously, the Pats are a pass first team with very few needs (even the term "needs" is too strong, it's more along the lines of "likes" or "wants") on O. I'd like them to get a center and a WR who is ready for prime time in about 2-3 years or so, and maybe a third TE for depth, especially if they use AH more as a WR. The TE could come in FA anyway.

The Pats D needs continued improvement, and (IMO) they need DB's, OLB's/DE's, front line help...
