Before he got hurt, he was a real good pass rusher. Good burst off the snap and he had some good moves. Blew out his knee on a cheapshot on special teams. If his knee is all the way back, he can help out the pass rush. That being said, he is real weak against the run. Lots of trouble setting the edge. Teams would run at him all day with the Raiders.

That's likely the FO's thinking.

The knee ligaments usually take two years to regain full neuromuscular effciency, i.e. fluid movement.

He wouldn't cost much and could be a steal if his health remains.

This is a poor man's Mark Anderson.

This would be the role Mark Anderson over-performed in last year, ringing up 10 sacks coming in opposite Carter on third down. And could be an indication the Patriots might not pay Anderson in 2012.

Oh, awesome. I've been following Scott from afar for a while, now, and I've often wished we could bring him aboard. He seems like the kind of player who could really develop under BB. Low risk, high upside; hope they sign him pronto.

He was a good high motor pass rusher pre-injury. I remember watching him and thinking he played a lot like Aaron Schobel. And he has the size and athleticism to possibly convert to OLB. He'd be really good value if he regains his athleticism back.

yeah, these are the types of guys BB goes after, when they work out they can work out big, ie Rodney harrison.
he'll sign a few solid players like Fanene and a couple guyes like Scott and see what sticks.
