Mario Williams is now a Buffalo Bill

maybe Brady should go back to the shotgun more often...

I can't wait to see the cost of someone with 32 choices to live ending up in Buffalo NY.

I'd rather live in Boston and San Diego over Buffalo.

On the other hand, I chose Buffalo over jobs in Ann Arbor, MI and Providence largely because of the city.

If I had to choose over NFL cities, I'd be here over St. Louis, Kansas City, Jacksonville, Atlanta (though I can see the appeal for others), Charlotte, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Cincy, maybe Dallas (I'm a big fan of the city of Houston over Dallas), Green Bay. Buffalo ranks maybe #10 or #11 from the bottom in my book.

It's always about the money.

I don't know if that's always the case, but I'm sure the number the Bill set in front of Mario about made his head spin.

It's easy to say I'd play for $75 million for a contender, rather than take $100mm on a bottom feeder, but when they put the number in front of you it's probably just too much to pass up.

I also think this move is more frightening to the Jets, and Dolphins than us. I have faith in our O line. Sanchez is going to be in the fetal position by the end of the season.

I would live anywhere for $96mil

Congratulations to Toronto!

Have you been following?

The Toronto experiment is OVAH!! After Mr. Rogers (the Canadian one) died, the cable company is dying to get out of the agreement. It went over like the Hindenburg. Biggest complaints come from Bills season-ticketholders from Canada, which is 20% of the fanbase.

6 years $96mil

Probably not a great time to break it too you then

Aw, HELL no!

The only guy who spent more time dancing in the NE backfield was Maroney.

Don't be surprised to see the actual numbers being close to the 6th year average.

We're talking $50 million guaranteed here. Over 5 years, that signing bonus is $10 million a year. It will be very difficult to pump up the 6th to make the deal seem much bigger than it is.

Unless there are roster bonuses included you could prorate later...

According to Mort one of the selling points for the Bills for Mario Williams is what Dave Wannstedt could do with him in the 4-3 scheme...

So he wasn't interested in being a 3-4 OLB.

The guaranteed money doesn't all have to be in a signing bonus. I think we will see the first 2 or 3 years completely guaranteed. They couldn't cut him anyway, so I think it would be better to get it out of the way early rather than a prorate a large signing bonus over 5 years.

Wow, I am shocked. Either Buffalo surprisingly offered way more than everybody else who was interested, or this guy doesn't know what he's doing. The only NFL stadium I've been to whose facilities were actually worse than the old Fox. Good luck Mario, I guess we'll see you in the fall.

Hes losing a penny for every US Dollar spent in Canada. Maybe another 500k oughta cover it. :D.

NY and CAN tax rate is kinda close.

Shoulda went to the 'Fins.

Canada (29%) + Ontario (11%) = 40%.
USA (35%) + NY (8.5%) = 43.5%

Where is that poster who was for sure it was not about the money for Mario, it was about playing for a contender and winning...

It's always about the money.

He's right here, homo! Money talks, man. How dare I misjudge how much money a team was willing to throw at him. Anyway I'm gonna go get back to doing stuff that makes me feel good about myself. You enjoy feeling good because a player signed with another team.

Thanks for correcting me. I thought the countries and states/provinces were reversed. I figured around 40%...
