Most of us have access to NFLN...in tonight's ongoing segment with Brian Baldinger and newcomer Ryan Clark, Baldinger asks him what is more serious, paying bounties to injure players or Spygate...immediately Clark launches into his Spygate rant ,including "they changed the outcomes of games in progress like the playoffs and Super Bowls and cheated the league for years, fixing games by spying so I say Spygate is much worse"(somewhat paraphrased from memory but accurate in his intent)...this segment JUST aired and is STILL replaying.

For all the holier than thou know it alls that constantly mock anyone here who continues to fight against this Spygate injustice, here's a gigantic newsflash...this story is NEVER going away until the Ryan Clarks and NFLN hit squads and their slander pieces are brought to bear and debunked...forcefully and vehemently. It's the eve of of the 2012 free agency period and Ryan Clark just slandered all Patriot players, coaches and fans on national television...and we as a fanbase "need to get over it" and "move on"?

Honestly if the words spygate were never typed on this website ever again, I would be a happy person. If the phrase isn't from the league office its unimportant bs.

Well put.

What vexes me about the entire "SypGate" saga is that the mediots and players who keep harping about it have not got their facts straight about the entire affair.

Doubtless, us Pats fans will NOT get over it as long as the Clarks and NFLN keep rehashing the same old spurious tripe and pass it off as "fact".

Who cares about what Ryan Clark says, or any Steeler for that matter? They have no idea what cowher was doing to gain an edge behind the scenes, they're just idiots with an axe to grind.

I hate the Steelers more than any team in professional sports, including the Yankees and Jets. They are one of the least classy orgs in sports, yet they act holier-than-thou at all times. They were handed a Super Bowl and the beneficiaries of numerous calls throughout the 70s with a roided-up team. Their team doctor in 2005 was busted for distributing steroids, but it was covered up. Bill Cowher laughed about SpyGate having any impact in the NFL, and he was ostracized by their stupid fanbase.

I've said for a long time that the only difference between the Bengals and Steelers: The Bengals are criminals that lose football games; the Steelers are criminals that win football games. They drafted Big Ben (rapist), Harrison (wife beater and all-around jerk), Porter (gangster thug), Holmes (punk), Mendenhaal (bin Laden fan), Burress (gang banger), and a whole bunch of other prison punks.

Cryan' Clark: "Spygate" worse than Bountygate

Coming from the Dead Horse department, the NFLN presents this nugget of wisdumb entitled
Idiot Squealers Say the Darndest Things:
Cryan' Ryan Clark, in the NFLN studio during Total Access, just told bimbette Lindsay Soto
that "Spygate" (his words) is worse than Bountygate because (again, his words) the integrity
of the game was compromised from the Patriots cheating their way to wins. Soto just sat there,
silently nodding, with no follow-up question or comment.

Now, I find the whole Bountygate business overblown anyway, because defensive players are being paid
to stop offensive players any way legally possible, so what's wrong with a little something, you know,
for the effort?

The fact, however, that the lie of the NEP cheating their way to 3 SBs - and zero since - because of
unauthorized camera placement is still being perpetuated by marble-mouthed morons like Clark
and dumb clucks like SuperChicken John Clayton who, while admitting that Bountygate is more egregious
than Cameragate because players may have been hurt, still had to add that the Pats only hurt other teams
in close games - as if those wins came only because of unique camerawork, is an insult to the legacy of
those '01-'04 teams and an indictment of the Omissioner who has never qualified his statements from 2007,
even when he had a chance to do so during the days before SB46.
Bob Kraft has to share some of the blame also, for not insisting that the Jest Fan-in-Chief
make a public clarification in exchange for all the photo-opps he has given that Sewer York scumbag.

Like the Steroid Curtain never gave the Steelers an edge?

Where's the OUTRAGE over that !!!!!!

Pittsburgh fans are the worst. I hate that they are so smug when their hockey team should have folded twice and they got lucky with the lockout and the best chance in the lottery so they were able to draft 2 probable hall of fame players in back to back years. Their football team won 4 titles on roids and their doctor was busted for roids in 05 in a year the league may as well have told Seattle to just stay home. Really awful fans, worthless city.

this, the fight against the Patriots is about as successful as the war on drugs. Nobody who's opinion actually amounts to anything a) brings it up anymore and b) believes it was a serious and isolated as it was portrayed.

Kraft, BB and the Pats have never put forth an opposing argument to this bs and until they do we'll continue to be villified. A large part of me feels that we, as fans, bear the brunt of this crap and the team doesn't. As long as there's silence from Foxboro, the entire nation will believe that it was an enormously big deal and, if I were in their shoes, I would too. I blame the organization as much as the critics. The organization, as a whole, has been a ****y about this.

Of course he thinks so. I'd be shocked to learn that he hasn't collected his share of bounties, starting with that hit on Wes Welker a few years ago.

Or maybe that time he nearly decapitated Willis McGahee:

Or this headshot on Ed ****son:

Or even this one on Percy Harvin:

The guy is a dirtbag who basically makes his living by inflicting head trauma on opposing players. Let's see someone Bobby Wade him, and then see how he feels about the matter. In the mean time, maybe he should spend his time thinking about how his team lost to Tim Tebow in the playoffs, or how he apparently can't step foot in Mile High Stadium without losing a spleen. Normally I'd feel bad for someone with his condition, but in this case there's a very good chance that his absence saved someone else from having a career/life altering injury, so **** him.

The entire Steelers' defense is just a bunch of headhunting thugs, and it should be pretty obvious to anyone who watches that they have exactly the sort of culture where a bounty system would happen. They probably don't even get why anyone would have a problem with it.

Ryan Clark is a head hunter so of course he is going to side step Bounty-Gate

Re: Cryan' Clark: "Spygate" worse than Bountygate

both are nothing compared with the Broncos circumventing the salary cap for years, winning titles, and hiding huge illegal payments of tens of millions of dollars

If any team tried that TODAY, this hanging commish would disband the franchise.

As it is, I wonder how many people actually know that the Broncos gave an extra $29 million to John Elway and Terrell Davis under the table, won 2 super bowls in doing it, got caught and were fined $968K while losing a 3rd round pick, then got caught AGAIN and were fined $950K and lost another a 3rd round pick?

Lindsey Soto has an awesome rack. That is probably the best thing I will gain from this thread. :)

I actually have less of a problem with Clark's misplaced diatribe than I do with the NFLN in this instance. Typically on most shows - sports or otherwise - when one person goes on like that there is another on the opposite side that is given equal time to offer a counterpoint and a rebuttal to the original statement.

Now I realize that's not 100% accurate when it come to certain subjects/networks, but on a network like the NFLN, why (I assume there was not) was there not someone there to offer a rebuttal to Clark's opinion about the Patriots? Clark's views are obviously already well known, and Baldinger was just lobbing him a slow-pitch softball so he could get up on his soapbox and spew his biased excuse for his current team's two conference championship game losses.

Dd the NFLN have anyone contradict Clark's comments? If not, then why not? My guess is that anyone that may have followed with a differing viewpoint focused strictly on the Saints (since that was what the original topic of discussion was about), and Clark's distortion of the facts was left with no counter argument. The net result is that viewers are left with a subconscious feeling that Clark's opinion is valid, since nobody refuted his commentary.

There was/is no followup. His diatribe was accepted as a given fact.I've had the station on the past few hours. What they are doing is pounding the market continually with this slander, offering no rebuttal by anyone in the NFL realm...this HAS to be coming straight from the desk of Rich Eisen.

All they need to do is add Bart Scott, Brandon Jacobs, and Bernard Pollard to their roster and their conglomerate of classlessness is complete:p. But on the subject of Clark and Bountygate, I'm not surprised in the least that he would consider Spygate a bigger offense. Clark has spent the last 6 seasons playing for a team whose stock and trade has been roughing up the other side's offense. To him, the prospect of a "pay for performance" system doesn't seem like an egregious crime, it simply seems like a way to motivate defenders. Spygate, on the other hand, is something that Clark takes personally. Judging by how he talks about it, he seems to be completely uninformed as to what the rules actually were, and because of this, he assumes that BB and Co were taping every single move of the defense in order to use the signals as an in game advantage. I get the feeling that Clark must have thought that he had been tricked by the Pats.

.

Ignoring the NFLN mediots for the moment:

What I draw from these statements from Ryan is the suspicion that, Ryan himself, has participated in a player organized bounty system previously and considers it no big deal. I base that on nothing more than my own terrible opinion of the way human nature works. It's simple deflection. If you can suspect any team of bounties wouldn't it be Pittsburgh (and possibly Detroit). How many times have members of that defense been fined and flagged for "big" hits, particularly to the head.

Whatever. It sucks to hear these clowns, but Belichick shouldn't have had his guys videotaping when they weren't supposed to. Something we all have to live with.
