I don't like Finnegan at all. I think he's dirty and overrated. And I believe he will command a large salary in free agency. I'd much prefer going after Carr, if we are going to make a run at a CB.

If the big money is going anywhere (and I don't believe it is) it is going to Mario Williams or one of the two big WR FAs. Not to this guy.

Your points are well documents but I think his attitude is what we need. I'm not saying he's our savior but a definite upgrade at CB. I'm sure BB will have a handle on him on how far he can go pushin'da envelope. Like I said if we can get him at a reasonable deal then look into him and other CBs that are available. Yes his asking price is ridiculous but some desperate team will lock him up.

Or even Wallace from Steelers.

Personally, I don't think there's any way that BB even considers paying that much money to the CB position.

He may very well draft another CB in the first few rounds, and he very well may take a guy like Eric Wright or Richard Marshall in free agency too. They'd be much more cost efficient, and ultimately could work out a lot better here.

I think a lot of these supposed "top tier" free agents are getting hyped by the media, and there are many fans falling for this nonsense.

If the team goes after a top tiered FA, it certainly wouldn't be at a position like CB where they'd have to pay 10 million per year.

With McCourty and Dowling, I don't want top CB signed. I think they should sign a top Safety or Mario Williams though FA. Grab another corner with one of their many high draft picks.

The most over rated CB in the NFL, no thanks I'll stick with McCourty, Dowling, Arrington & Moore.

They will all look better with improved safety play and a consistent pass rush, they're all good enough players but it's hard to cover receivers for 5+ seconds.

He's a punk b***h!

The Tennessean reported that Finnegan's agent, Terry Watson, is seeking a contract similar to the five-year, $48.5 million deal Johnathan Joseph signed with the Houston Texans last offseason.

Cortland Finnegan says Tennessee Titans won't make him an offer - ESPN

Asking for more than $9 million per is definitely going to limit his options, especially now that Al Davis is no longer going to be handing out huge contracts like candy at Halloween.

I think this guy has a bad attitude and it would cause him to be a problem for the coaching staff. I'm also not convinced he would be much of an upgrade to what we have already. We are probably better off drafting to this position. I know BB doesn't much care for using the draft to fill a position of need but in this case I think he might bend the rules.

I agree 100% with this thought, and when you take his ridiculous contract demands into acct, it becomes even more of a no-brainer.

He has the potential to have a nice 7.5--8 million per yr deal with someone, but I think he's extremely overrated. If someone gives him top CB money, they are total idiots.

Oakland bound. No more midgets for us!

Other than the fight with Andre Johnson, what are his issues? I really don't know, I don't follow the Titans all that closely.

I don't know about his character issues, but I don't like this, from Mike Sando at ESPN:

Since 2007, when Finnegan became a starter, he leads the NFL with 16 combined penalties for disqualification, facemask, horse collar tackle, personal foul, roughing the kicker, roughing the passer, taunting, unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike conduct.
