He has a physical set and feature that it doesn't matter if he ran a 6.2, he's going top 10.

Yes, his bad numbers at the combine were correctly reported. However he still is a disruptive DT and will most likely be a top 15 pick based off his college performance.

I thought he had put on some extr 20 ish around the stomach area, remember him weighing aroudn 300 but he weighed in on 322 right ?

Could that be why he ran a bit slow ?

This guy came 20 pounds overweight at the biggest job interview of his life. Will probably struggle to keep in shape in the pros.
Had a poor 26 inch vertical, showing that he doesnt have much lower body strength.
In 2 years in college he had 2 sacks and 11 TFLs.

Overrated.

Hard to know where that extra 20 pounds went without seeing him at 300 and then again at 320. He definitely planned to show up to the combine with some extra weight, though. It's not like he just unknowingly showed up 20 pounds heavier than he planned.

Could it be a way to try and position him for a 3-4 NT job in the future ? Or even a NT in a 4-3 I guess it could work.

I myself, when I heard him coming out and his potential thought about a much more rounded passrusher and runblocker. Have to watch his tape before the combine.

I don't think he was ever much of a pass rusher. As I understand it, LSU took him out on passing downs.

That would make me even less willing to take a player in tthe top 10 who can't play 3 downs o_O This guy has bust written all over him imo.

It makes sense then. He is trying to improve his stocks on the runstuffing NT position.

I thought by hearing all the praise he got that he would atleast have som passrush potential.

It's not too uncommon for players to show up to the combine heavy and then cut a bunch of weight for their pro days. I think the best example is Dekoda Watson, a linebacker that the Bucs drafted. He showed up at 240 pounds at the combine and ran 4.55. About three weeks later, he was down to 226 and ran 4.40 at his pro day. Wouldn't surprise me to see Brockers down under 310 with the goal of improving on his numbers from the combine.

Okay, and what is the reason for this ? More value of pro days I assume ?

I would like to throw it out there that i didnt really like him before the combine. Whenever i watched lsu, the dt that stood out to me was #93, not brockers.

No doubt in my mind, Brockers bulked up too much for the combine, with the goal of doing much better at his pro day.

The thing to remember with Brockers is that the LSU program does a poor job of developing strong D lineman. Think back to Dorsey and Jackson and both lacked physicality as rookies. The pro team S&C program made them into NFL strong players. I suspect Brockers will follow the same path as them.

I've said all along that neither Cox nor Brockers is ready to start in year 1, but by year 3, they should be more than solid, maybe even elite players.

Can someone remind me why we should be interested in Michael Brockers. From the combine

40 - 5.36 (fifth slowest among DL's)
Vert - 26.5 (6th worst)
Broad - 105 (10th worst)

Add to that his less than stellar play at LSU, only two sacks, regularly taken out on passing downs and his inexperience.

All I'm really seeing is a slowish unexplosive 2 down lineman. Why does he warrant first round attention? Is it purely that he has ideal size and length for a 3-4 end?

Does anyone really see BB having a first round grade on him.
