Local radio in Houston is reporting that the Texans will not franchise Arian Foster, thus allowing him to be a restricted free agent. Texans are also stretched regarding the salary cap. To add to the situation, I don't believe Foster is keen to give the Texans a home town discount. After his breakout season two seasons ago, he asked for a pay boost and the Texans said no (prove it). Arian shut his mouth and played at the NFL minimum without complaining this past season but I have to believe he's a bit pissed at the Texans.

So who do you prefer the Pats use the 31st pick on - Foster or Wallace (I lean towards Foster).

After I regain consciousness from passing out due to the ecstasy of the choice, I think I'll lean slightly toward Wallace.

Neither.

And especially not giving a running back 10m a year and trading a first round pick for him.

I would take Foster and it's not even close. Foster, IMO is the best RB in the NFL. He can do it all.

Wallace is a very good player, but I don't think he could even come close to having the impact Foster would have on our offense.

Our running back situation will not change much IMO unless BJGE goes which I doubt.

At this time I think Belichick signs a Fullback in the draft and the RB situation is set.

Don't give up on Vereen so soon.

Wallace, 100 times out of 100

How about adding impact players on D? How many more does the O need?

I think we've established that, as good as the offense has been, a guy like Wallace could make it as virtually unstoppable an offense as we've ever seen.

Then we draft for D.

Everyone who thinks Wallace would be more important in this offense then Foster needs a neurological evaluation. A top 3 RB vs a top 10 WR? In the words of ocho Child please! Go look at fosters production the past 2 seasons.

Behind a much, much better run-blocking O-line and with a lot more carries then he would receive here.

Is there an option C spend it all on defense?!

The only way we win another Super Bowl is if we take the pressure off Brady. Giving a stud RB like Foster more carries than we have with our pass happy offense would lead to nothing but good things. Remember our offense when we won our 3 superbowls? Exactly. Can't argue against that.

The Patriots also had some pretty handy match winners on D.

A month after being one routine catch (or a defensive stop with 88 yards of field behind them) away from winning a SB how can you possibly think THE ONLY WAY THE PATRIOTS EVER WIN ANOTHER SB is to change thier philosophy?
Do you think at all before you post?

The only way we win the big game again is by stopping folk more often when it matters

IMO we're all tooled up on the offensive side, it's game plan and the fact he's GOAT that keeps the ball in #12 hands not lack of talent in other areas

You're about " What if's". What if welker made that catch? What if our defense made that stop? Don't ignore the facts. We haven't won a SuperBowl since our philosophy became what it is today. Our philosophy in the Superbowl years was closer to the Giants of today then our current patriots. Gasp! So do me a favor Andy Johnson lay off the Gatorade. Everything in football is about Balance. And our patriots have none. Balance between Run and Pass and Offense vs Defense.

Given the power on offense, if you're truly talking about balance, how about improving the defense to the offense's talent level then.

There's a lot of silly in this post.

Foster by a long shot. The only reason the Pats use RBBC is because the unit is full of JAGs.

Of course Foster. Second best RB after Peterson.
